Youre missing the point.
No one is advocating clinical correctness at all whatsoever. No one is saying that you cannot shit on a film. In fact go ahead and do it and get it out of your system. What we are asking is that once you've expressed yourself numerous times there's no need to continuously do it over and over again.
That's a bit different from the tone behind the OP but yeah it makes sense.

Perhaps because the negative repetition easily outweighs the overly positive repetition? And that there is a difference between genuine optimism by fans who contently overestimate the film they want to do well and trolling because you hate a franchise/actor?
We have taken action when the positive turns into trolling. It happened with Avatar earlier this year.
Curious why trolling can't apply to someone who overly praises something especially if it's consensus not good but I largely get and agree with that. Everyone would prefer an upbeat atmosphere.

No, in fact I agree with you. I love debates with different opinions, as let's face it: if we all felt the same way this site would be really boring. I think what we're just asking is that we keep in mind of being respectful to others and their opinions (whether you understand them or not). You can say your peace about a movie, and even debate it with someone and that's awesome, it's what this site is about. For example, something like:
"I really hated this movie, I felt that the plot really lagged in the first half of the movie and the was rushed the last ten minutes"
vs.
"This movie is a fucking turd and a fucking waste of time. Piece of shit!"
The latter wouldn't break forums rules keep in mind, however constantly spamming negative reviews as such is what we're trying to avoid. It really serves no point and like you suggested, no debates. It's like arguing with a wall.
Again I'd like this apply to praise that constantly goes over the top and makes dissenters feel like they aren't welcome to the discussion.

Let's all make an effort to talk about the superhero movies less, even in the threads for those superhero movies
I 100% cosign to this. Would dramatically improve the weekend threads as well.

This place is already a pretty safe space, I'm sure those who are members of other forums for movies/other interests can attest to that as well.

And I'm telling you that if people go to the other extreme and only be positive and shutting down any negative opinions expressed, that is also a problem.
And you know I agree with that 100% but Tele didn't really talk about that side in his premise.

Not necessarily actually.
That's not what it says in the OP, it directly goes after negative sentiment repetition.

We're not censoring opinions. We're just asking that instead of having one opinion you express multiple times, you diversify.
But you can heap praise over and over again because that's positive right?

Are we seriously going to pretend that certain movies and franchises don't already skew ridiculously positive among our members? I just find this laughable I'm sorry. Maybe you have an issue with certain members constantly trashing films/actors etc but they are usually in term of number of members a minority on almost every project.

Ok?

Guys please do not turn this into PC hell or you will really limit its potential. We need different viewpoints...

I kind of think this is a slippery slope. Do we really want our movie threads to become fanboy garbage? This is a site for BO analysis first I thought...

Oh, please. You know very well that BatB is a mammoth hit because of perfect blend of actress and character. That's the secret of big boxoffice stars - pick as many roles that audience wants to see you in.
Circle wasn't even advertised much so putting the blame on Emma or using it as a proof that her casting in BatB had nothing to do with BatB success doesn't hold.
It was partially a joke but this response is exactly why it partially wasn't.

Wow, Disney is way off with their sunday drop for BatB. This is not conservative, this is actually a very unprofessional projection.
Unprofessional?! Someone is way too emotional over an ESTIMATE. Not even sure what you are so upset over.

Why does Black Panther need the help of another MCU character to do well? Ant-Man didn't, Guardians didn't, and Dr. Strange didn't. People liked Black Panther in Civil War so if the movie is good, Black Panther will do well.
Not to mention these cross overs are getting stupid and repetitive, it's a pretty strong indication the story is not where it needs to be. Stop turning every MCU film into a mini Avengers/Civil War.

Schumer's career as a movie star is already flailing with these Snatched numbers. Pretty awful drops off of Trainwreck.

Weird ... once again, a seemingly low Friday number is redeemed by excellent Sat/Sun numbers For some reason, Guardians fans (relatively speaking) haven't wanted to see this film on Friday, LOL.
That's because it is a walk up film, pretty easy to understand why...

Really nice hold for GOTG 2, those who were worried midway through last weekend can rest easy now. Clearly a walk up film...

I was only aware about it after the strike started last go around. If they never intended to strike then it's still a win, they got a deal out of this without having to strike.
It's a great leverage tactic if you are pretty sure the other guy will blink...

Dude, I can tell you, no one knew what would happen. The deal came together really really late. There easily could've been a strike.
This is one area where your impressions are simply wrong.
Whatever man, the strike didn't happen so...

Hollywood is viewed as out of touch with reality by many across the country, it's really not hard to understand why both sides had to reach a deal. Too much negative press potential...
