  1. Still salty that jackman sold out and didn’t let Logan be his last wolverine appearance. there are dozens of us!
  2. isn’t this just business as usual for Sony? They’re not a studio one readily associated with quality blockbusters.
  3. like every other music biopic then. Why is it so hard to get right as a genre?
  4. Can’t wait! Tim Burton never misses so there’s zero percent chance this sucks!! 🤪
  5. He strikes me as a reasonably clever guy who’s cornered himself into only making movies for adolescents. Perhaps after this he’ll decide to aim higher. Anyway, lol at Cavil being used in the thumbnail of every terrible review even though it’s a glorified cameo. Guy can’t catch a break.
  6. I blame the studio at this point. 20 years ago there may have been a misplaced hope of getting the band back together, but seeing crypt-keeper Murray in that trailer I refuse to believe anyone really wanted… this
  7. Sigh. It’s a sequel to a reboot and they’re leaning harder into the nostalgia then ever.
  8. I’m fairly certain if I ever saw this my reaction would be: it’s no worse than half the other MCU shit that got a pass
  9. Still haven’t seen barbie, but the “gosling getting nominated and not gerwig or robbie proves the message of the film was correct” must be the stupidest award discourse ever.
  10. I for one will miss the “does this movie have a shot at a best picture nom” discourse on here every time an MCU movie came out
  11. In context I think it’s reasonable to say that not awarding lead actress or director noms counts as ‘not going nuts’ for barbie, I’m sure we can agree on that much
  12. let’s see how many actually translate into wins. Not nominating gerwig feels telling
  13. I had a feeling. If the globes didn’t go nuts for barbie there was no reason for the Oscars to
  14. Nice one Jonathon Glazer (adapted screenplay)! Blunt rather lucky IMO, but suggests Oppenheimer will get a shitload of noms as expected
  15. The quest to make the first good Jurassic Park sequel continues
  16. I wouldn’t say I’m excited for this but it does increasingly feel like it’ll be huge, from a total dearth of other big movies this year if nothing else
  17. I don’t understand how ‘blowing the budget’ was she-hulk (the show’s) fault. That’s on marvel, surely? Or did it start out as much less and costs escalated because of poor planning?
  18. I keep seeing “protect the hive” promos for the beekeeper and it looks like a parody film you’d see a poster of in the background of a bojack horseman scene
  19. I didn’t think watchmen was perfect (the finale was poor) but overall it was a thoughtful expansion of the world with enough interesting ideas of its own. And in superhero tv/movie land, interesting ideas are like water in the desert.
