  1. Studio marketing not giving Zendaya stans a break this year, what with WB pretending she had a larger role in Dune than the 5 mins she had and now this 😳
  2. Grace is lulz but this was something I kinda believed especially when it came to her saying Wanda's portrayal was a hot mess I mean, the last time Raimi did witches...
  3. I don't think there has ever been a shocking underperformance for a sequel that people didn't see coming. Prince Caspian is probably the closest but people knew the other books weren't as popular as TLTWaTW. Even Disney as they included Tilda Swinton's White Witch in a scene that wasn't in the book and played her up in the promos.
  4. We back on this bullshit after just days of Eternals being torpedo-ed on RT despite it being a movie that "ticked all the boxes"?
  5. At that point, they just started promoting him as a BDSM dominatrix daddy coz seeing some of the Twitter fantasies (including art) about him, Marvel said might as well...
  6. That's coz canon MCU romance is shite. All he had to do was bump his chest against her back 😭 No Way Home better solidify Peter/MJ as one of the greats and Love & Thunder better do wonders rehabilitating Jane/Thor.
  7. I think one of DS3, Thor 5 and CM 3 can actually have their plot revolve around helping Thena's crew save Sersi's crew. Doctor Strange's plotlines so boring that they literally hijacked the sequel with the multiverse storyline. Captain Marvel doesn't have good plots and villains of her own either and can do with borrowing some help from the Eternals/Celestials. Mutants being introduced due to the multiverse would be too lazy and involve a heck of a retcon for the MCU, similar to what The Flash is rumored to be doing for the DCEU. I don't think Feige would go that route. *Most likely FoX-Men appear (and then go back to their universe) in MoM to keep us satiated for the time being until MCU's all-new X-Men debut.
  8. Harry should've appeared in The Marvels or Young Avengers instead of this. I think Eros, Thena and Kingo would still be perfect for stuff like Doctor Strange 3, Thor 5, The Marvels sequel and a possible Avengers 5. If I were Marvel, I'd course correct this Celestials plotline among those films to setting up mutants in the MCU. They already mentioned in the movie that "energy cannot be destroyed, it can only be converted". Sersi killing the Earth Celestial could lead to the energy redirecting itself to human beings and creating the X-Gene (SCIENCE!1!). Or Arishem thinking homo sapiens were unworthy of the Celestial sacrifice but he would compensate by creating the homo superior race to continue the process of evolution.
  9. Birds of Prey is perfect. I don't care what people say lol. Maybe it should have been a Gotham City Sirens movie but it's still a delight and actually experimented with what a comic book film is expected to be like. OTOH Eternals simply reduced the number of quips in an MCU film and is touted to "deviate from the MCU formula?" 💀 Florence Pugh saved Black Widow from complete mediocrity I think. My main issue with that film is it came too late when it should have been a Phase 2 or early Phase 3 movie instead. But that's majorly on Ike, not Feige.
  10. This should have been a Disney+ series instead of a movie. That would have benefitted characters like Sersi, Sprite, Phastos and Thena immensely. I agree with @Menor that Sersi's character was half-baked. Since the emotional crux of the film depended on her, the entire film fell apart. Sersi's love and fascination with humanity is supposed to be Ariel level from The Little Mermaid. Did anyone get that impression from this film, a crucial objective for people to understand why she needed to be the leader over other Eternals like Phastos who seemed to have made deeper bonds with humanity? Nope. I kind of get the DCEU comparisons now because some of those films assumed the audiences would know what made icons like Superman and Batman tick without actually exploring them fully again in films like BvS. But while DC's dependence on audiences' prior knowledge of their characters' mythos made sense (and to a similar extent, the way Sony/Marvel handle Tom Holland's Spider-Man) as there have been a million Batman/Superman/Joker/Spidey media representations, how the heck did Marvel and Zhao expect people to connect with unknowns like Sersi immediately? You gotta put in the work for newbies. THAT'S LITERALLY THE REASON FELLOW Z-LISTERS GOTG WORKED! And Kingo not being in the final battle just rendered the presence of his character in the movie pointless. Was Kumail unavailable? What a clusterfuck. Also I'm done with the mentally unstable powerful women trope. Thena coming this close on the heels of Wandavision doesn't help. Weird character choices all around.
  11. Seeing as how this is the Disney remake in particular, The Queen was hotter than 14 yo child Snow White in the 1937 movie. The Mirror was either a pedo or created an elaborate ruse to bring about the Queen's downfall.
  12. People want various specific superheroes (emphasis on specific) which translates to many origin movies. Nobody asked for Eternals.
  13. Nobody asking for it. Also yes, a needless and random film getting good reviews doesn't make it less random or needless. Actually a truly needless film wouldn't get a good reception so...
  14. A lot of people just find it dumb (and funny) that a totally needless and random ass film like Eternals is what will ruin the perfect streak. Like what was the need? Fantastic Four, GOTG3, Ant-Family, The Marvels, Young Avengers, Dark Avengers/Thunderbolts, X-Men are all coming if people wanted more team movies other than Avengers.
  15. They'll go the Hulk route and make them supports in other people's films like Captain Marvel, Thor, Fantastic Four and Black Panther. Maybe they'll split them up into smaller groups to appear in these films.
  16. Wu's problems with FotB were simmering before CRA came out. She did have another win with Hustlers post-CRA (even if JLo was the main face of the film) so I think she's good. The sequel is supposed to center around Chan's character though. If Eternals underwhelms financially too, I can see them beef up Constance and Awkwafina's parts in the sequel.
  17. Sounds too much of a coincidence to greenlight a movie directed by a WOC based on a property that Jack Kirby meant to be the substitute of another property that had its own movie just announced with another WOC director at the time. I said "seems" to have severely miscalculated but at this point, the first rotten MCU film is an L in itself. An eventual rotten movie was inevitable, but an Eternals movie could have easily been avoided in the first place.
  18. DC had announced Ava DuVernay's New Gods. Feige probably had a kneejerk reaction when Zhao approached him. Only this time, he seems to have severely miscalculated compared to the last time with Civil War and BvS when his aggressive play paid off.
