  1. Better yet, they should introduce the Earth, Air and Fire princesses and then the Fire Kingdom should attack the other nations.
  2. Evan Rachel Wood's voice is so enchanting. Remember being obsessed with it when Across the Universe came out.
  3. No way. She became a fae queen/nature goddess equivalent at the end who is finally a free spirit roaming the world, the place where she belongs. The perfect end to the story of a young woman who was locked up and isolated for the first 21 years of her life due to her "otherness". And Anna becoming Queen of Arendelle is also a logical conclusion as not only was she always more capable of being a leader but she was always the sister with the closer connection to the kingdom, be it turning up for her parents' funeral alone or supporting her people when Elsa left them in a nuclear winter. The ending couldn't be better for me.
  4. Longer length realistic CGI + superstar cast vs. animated feature length regular animation + Frozen cast budget. Also, the small percentage of DOM underperformance it seems to have more than made up for in digital and HV sales. Is it a hot take to say Frozen 2 > Frozen?
  5. Would have been more profitable if the first trailer was most of the Arabian Nights sequence. But I think Disney is aware that initial marketing shat the bed and the later push and WOM really made the film's run, which is why the sequel and the Anders series were announced before Gaston/LeFou.
  6. Well, crazy to think that Parasite would have won if I had put it at #2 instead of #3 on my list. @Jake Gittes Great job man. Looking forward to any lists you plan to tackle in the future.
  7. Lol then, I'm pretty sure I've had the wackiest route to the mythos. My gateway was the 1992 Virgin Games adventure game which based its visuals on the Lynch film and actors (pictured below), that my dad got for me in the mid-90's. Then during my teens my first live-action intro was the 2000's SyFy miniseries.
  8. They should finally cast MENA actors for House Corrino. I mean it's Shaddam IV for crying out loud. Even their costumes could be modeled on Ottoman royalty. As for Irulan's blonde hair, there are blonde, blue-eyed Middle Eastern women but seeing how they have ignored physical characteristics as described in the books for other casting, even that's non-obligatory.
  9. To think there is an alternate universe where instead of popping twice in the Top 40, she's female Ted Mosby-ing on How I Met Your Father
  10. Why do ya'll sleep on anything that's not Marvel/DC so much? Dredd missing the Top 110 or not making any BOT list other than a middling placement in the CBM one is a travesty. Scott Pilgrim... ok, tbf I don't see BOT voting for Scott Pilgrim but I thought the collection of Marvel/DC actors in its cast would at least give it a cult following with people discovering it thanks to their favourite superhero stars.
  11. Never Let Me Go and Boy A were the reasons I boarded the flaming TASM train. I forgot NLMG was a 2010 movie. Misremembered it as coming out in 2009. Would have included it in my Top 100 (not that it would have mattered much as it seems to have slipped most people's radar). As an aside, the actor who played the younger version of Garfield's character in Never Let Me Go, Charlie Rowe, was rumored to have been Feige's initial choice for MCU Spidey. It was Pascal and co. who apparently backed Holland, and RDJ favored the latter after screen tests. Which totally makes sense considering the direction they took with MCU Peter Parker. But a part of me would have preferred a Peter who was closer to Rowe/Garfield's character in this film TBH
  12. A couple of pages back he was under the impression that Infinity War/Endgame made the Top 30
  13. 2010 didn't even bother turning up for the rehearsals. She said FINAL ACTS ONLY.
  14. A totally depressing tangent to a fun tweet: Frank Herbert disowned his real-life gay son, an AIDS activist who died in the '80s. Now Frank's other non-disowned (straight) son (the one mentioned in this tweet) consistently does a hackjob on the Dune mythos via cashgrab sequels and prequels.
  15. I had Attack the Block in the Top 15 on my list. I have seen almost all of the films you listed. I just happened to enjoy more movies offered by every other year in the decade. 🤷‍♂️ Though @Jake Gittes yes, I will eventually get around to watching Margaret. I always had it on my radar right from the moment it was released because I was on a True Blood high at the time. I just didn't get around to watching it.
  16. TBF there was a full 3 year gap between Perks and his casting in Fantastic Beasts/DCEU. His career didn't exactly skyrocket immediately after Kevin and Wallflower, owing in no small part to his non-conformist persona I'm sure, something I did expect. Even the Flash happened only because of Snyder's unconventional casting choices. And the character in FB was very specific to his "wheelhouse" and written as Crispin Glover-lite. I don't think the problem was him being stuck in the "franchise swamp" as much as him not getting enough opportunities outside of it (or even better franchise opportunities than his poorly written role in Fantastic Beasts for that matter).
  17. As it should. 2011 was easily the decade's weakest year in terms of film but A Separation stood head and shoulders above the BP nominees of the year (so this means The Artist and The Descendants got shut out altogether? I can vibe with that. Also, looks like nobody, including me, remembered The Help). Wish this had pulled a Parasite 8 years early and taken home the BP crown but I guess it was way too early and the then make-up of the Academy wouldn't have allowed it anyway.
  18. 2010 having 0 entries in the bottom half and then going on to make a killing in the top half is a mood
  19. Ramayan is more linear and less complicated, hence more accessible. Also, Sita is much more popular among women than Draupadi. Uttar Ramayan is possibly the most feminist mythology in world culture.
  20. Should have known it would amass a huge following after it became the unlikeliest kindergartener sensation of all time.
  21. Why would Emma charge 10M for this lol. The fact that Emma Stone, one of the highest paid actresses, had initially signed on for Meg shows that most actresses probably just wanted to work with Gerwig on an adaptation of a beloved story.
