ALADDIN | 695.1 M overseas ● 1050.7 M worldwide

Yeah, I forgot that that was the movie where Iago switched sides. But considering it was just a move to get Gilbert Gottfried to be a part of the tv show (since they were losing Williams), I don't think it would matter if we never saw Iago in the live action verse again (assuming Will is going to return for the sequels, along with Naseem Pedrad's Dalia who wasn't a part of the OG animated gang). -

King of Thieves is as it competently combines the Ali Baba and The Forty Thieves story with Aladdin, with elements of King Midas thrown in. It works very well as a Middle Eastern equivalent of a Pirates-y swashbuckling adventure. Return of Jafar OTOH is a hot mess that they should avoid. Would be more interested if the second movie involves Shirabad, Jasmine's mother's kingdom in the film (hinted to be in South Asia), and then end the trilogy with King of Thieves. I want to point out though that there were many storylines from the spin-off television show that were far superior to the DTV sequel movies. That's another source they could look to for inspiration when it comes to the live action sequels. -

So you mean to say... he was a diamond in the rough? -
Like the "swallowing sand" and "I'll breathe when they try to suffocate me" lyrics being evocative of Jasmine trapped in the hourglass in the OG and drowning in the sand. My sister and I would always play a game while watching the movie as kids where we would stop breathing when she went under and then released our breath once Ali smashed the glass and rescued her. Trying to complete that game was a bitch.

Yeah, R'hollor may not actually exist and is just a source of faith for the magically inclined. The Night King isn't technically a "God" as well. More of a global warming allegory created due to the evils of men. But then doesn't ending the NK and everything turning happy/cheery go against that theme? It's fitting that the threat left at the end is a human one (whether it is Cersei or Dany's own potential for nihilism). The questions posed are, "Does evil end if Satan is killed?" and "Can humanity be trusted to learn from its previous mistakes?".

And he's respectfully critiqued Tolkien's more simplistic good vs. evil themes many times over. This is a deconstruction, a totally different beast. It's like complaining how we did not get an epic battle sequence at the end of Watchmen, hence it was anticlimactic as it didn't follow superhero story norms.

Or maybe the point of the story is to show that humanity is its own worst enemy and not some made up boogeyman like the NK? It would be poignant if more lives were lost due to Cersei's ruthlessness in the last 3 episodes than during The Long Night. Again, this is a high fantasy deconstruction, not traditional high fantasy. Don't be shocked to see if some "Chosen Ones" never get their "chance to shine", that's kind of the point.

GRRM Forever: This has never been a story about good vs. evil Show For First 7 Seasons: This has never been a story about good vs. evil *Show does away with the one-dimensional dark force before the finale, abruptly, at the hands of a person who's been training since the beginning of the show* Some Fans: ...it's almost as if this isn't a story about good vs. evil

There shouldn't even be a doubt about the Allen/Farrow thing. He literally married his adopted daughter. And Ronan Farrow too has claimed that he had seen creepy things like Allen making Dylan suck his thumb while she was in bed. I think Depp is making shit up as well. Trying to involve Elon Musk in it just screams of desperation and money grab. And if he were a woman, the dudebros would have demanded to know why is she making some of these accusations only now.

Bad take alert. Also see the similarly misguided "MJ should be nothing more than a pretty face/trophy girlfriend for Peter Parker" argument. I couldn't put it more articulately and succinctly as Patty herself: Patty has been vocal about her love for Lois Lane. So to fashion Steve after Lois makes perfect sense for her, and is brilliant on multiple levels. You get a great male character modelled after a woman character, which rarely happens, if at all, letting him play a role often belittled and frowned upon (that of a supportive love interest). The fact that he also serves Diana's characterization by giving her a human anchor that makes her human in turn makes his usage that much more ingenious. So of course Steve had to return if he's Diana's Lois Lane. Patty's favorite superhero film had Superman turn back time to bring Lois back after all.

Yeah, I got the same impression too. Ryan Murphy is petty and most of his work have serious undertones of misogyny (and this is coming from someone who really appreciated Glee for being there during a time when LGBT kids really needed something like it). Not at all surprised he'd come for Patty for such a harmless dig. And he's being hypocritical as I highly doubt the next season of AHS would be named 1984 if it hadn't been for WW84. So the Orwellian reference is facetious af. Hope Patty and co. sidestep starting a mudslinging competition with this shmuck.
