  1. Ugh, it kind of sounded better if the horror elements had been exaggerated in the trailer and this is more traditional superhero/coming of age than it let on. Not saying emphasising the horror aspects will necessarily make it bad (especially if they want to go the It route) but I suspect I would have liked it very much the way it originally was. Oh well...
  2. Julie Delpy better be in this. If there will be a "this" that is.
  3. USA Today article on the plot, Kristen Bell's character and more (Will Arnett is playing Slade Wilson/Deathstroke while Bell is playing a superhero blockbuster director)
  4. Kids eat it up. It's hilarious and inspiring to see little tweens battlling it out in YouTube comments section against grown ass men coming to bash the show. It's another matter whether a large number of them can pester their parents enough to buy movie tickets vs. just watching the show on CN for free.
  5. Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker and Under the Red Hood are up there too. I have a soft spot for Subzero as well. SM2 helped itself to BTAS's characterisation of Mr. Freeze for its take on Doc Ock.
  6. TBF he's the perfect director to film the "With sixty elephants/Llamas galore/With his bears and lions/A brass band and more/With his forty fakirs/His cooks/His bakers/His birds that warble on key" part of Prince Ali. Just pull off that much for me, Guy.
  7. Barring the worst case situation of all upcoming DC movies falling like a row of dominoes, JL2 will happen. Not tomorrow or maybe not even until 2021 but it will happen eventually. It's the DC flagship. JL's performance is not the ideal situation but life goes on. If Fox's main X-Men franchise can still continue after Apocalypse despite being outshone by its own spin-offs, so can the JL franchise. That after credits was a sharp turn away from where most people thought the DCEU was originally headed (Darkseid) after JL, so in a way that was a "course correction" in itself with regards to this next batch of DC Films. It actually allows the solo films and heroes/villains to all have their moment before the next JL movie, while simultaneously setting up JL2 in a less cumbersome way than BvS had to do for JL.
  8. First James Wan for Aquaman, then David Samberg and Jack Dylan Grazer for Shazam, and now Hamada as DC Films President. New Line Horror's takeover of DC is almost complete.
  9. Uh, it depends on what you mean by "setting up JL 2". After Wonder Woman's success, they already said they wanted to go the loosely connected route with DC Films even before JL opened, so an IM2/BvS like situation was improbable anyway, especially as this is a period film too. But the after credits scene in JL
  10. And the 2017 list had Wonder Woman higher than Justice League, which people did not take seriously at the time.
  11. Warrior = Brave, steadfast in beliefs, resilient and and constantly rising after falling etc. I haven't read the book but isn't this about a girl who believes in her father and his theories when the whole world doesn't?
  12. It's #8 on Fandango's year end 10 Most Anticipated Movies of the New Year list, so clearly there's some excitement:
  13. Lol Sony finally has a hit franchise other than Spider-Man + to make up for the Bond loss. The hoping for no sequel ship has sailed. You could now hope that they don't greenlight spin-offs in addition to the sequels.
  14. If Cheetah's in this then I hope they go with the Rebirth design (and characterization too)
  15. Lol Coco's doing fine, especially considering its OS numbers. But this does show that Moana's performance was underrated af, especially as it had to contend with a post-SLoP Illumination musical in Sing.
  16. In his defense, his last two films were based on scripts that he either had to finish in 5 weeks' time (including research time on decades spanning comics and characters) or written by Max Landis. The bigger question is, what possessed Netflix to pay Landis 3 million for his Landis script?
  17. Back at 80% with 86 reviews. How many reviews are needed for this to be certified again? I thought it used to be 85.
  18. The actual reason however isn't very flattering for DC And he apparently called Mark Millar in regards to MOS2
  19. Still may or may not happen, but here are some character concept pitches made to WB by Joseph Kahn (director of some Taylor Swift music videos among others), with Dan Stevens, Natalie Dormer and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Constantine, Zatanna and Jason Blood/Etrigan respectively:
