QUICK FACTS: (For The Past Six Years)

[*]Two May, two June and two July openers won summer. [*]All number one films were sequels / spin-offs. [*]No year saw the top 3 movies coming from a single month. [*]2009 and 2011 had the most May openers in the top 15 (I included FAST FIVE as a May opener) [*]2007 had the most July openers in the top 15. [*]2008 and 2012 had the most June openers in the top 15. [*]2012 had the most August openers in the top 15. [*]Only 2007 and 2011 had top 15 films that made over 100 M. [*]2012 had the highest grossing number 1 film. [*]2012 also had the lowest grossing number 15 film. [*]2012 also had the fewest 100 M films. [*]2007 had the most 200 M movies with 7. [*]1 - 3 August openers were always part of the top 15. [*]The closest a non-sequel won summer was in 2008 when IRON MAN placed second. [*]2007 had the closest top 5 with the top 5 films separated by just 50.30 M or less. [*]Super Hero movies won the summer 3 times. [*]Only once an animated movie won the summer. It was in 2010 with TOY STORY lll. [*]There were always 2-3 animated films in the top 15. [*]2011 was the only year without a computer animated film in the top 5. [*]There was always at least one comedy film in the top 15. [*]2007 and 2011 had the most sequels/reboots/spin-offs with 9 each while 2008 had the least with just 5.

The Dark Knight number is wrong.

This being the summer game, all movies grosses are from summer time, this meaning that if a movie grossed more outside summer, it won't count (exactly as it happened with The Dark Knight). The limit is September first.

Aug 29–Sep 1 3 $11,127,290 +5.5% 2,750 -413 $4,046 $504,798,337 7
