Goffe
Cameron earned over 350m from Avatar 1. So it's safe to say he's gonna earn at least 1 billion from 2,3 and 4. lol how about no? Avatar 2: 2b Avatar 3: 1.8b Avatar 4: 1.3b total: 5.1b he will not get 1b from 5b total

Goffe
Thats assuming a decrease. of course, no movie with a huge total in the first installment ever increased Edited August 20, 2013 by Goffe
Neo
of course, no movie with a huge total in the first installment ever increased Say that to all the Catching Fire loonies that think it will increase. Can it be never because a) the OW hasn't been big enough and not as good as the first movie. If Avatar 2 manages a 140M OW then it will need a 5.35X to reach Avatar DOM (first run). TLW didn't match JP in quality, SM2 not a big enough OW, TDKR not big enough OW and didn't match TDK in quality, TFIII coming off a poorly received TF2, basically you need the perfect blockbuster. SM2 made 180m in it's first 6 days, not enough of couse, TDKR not big enough OW and didn't match TDK in quality, TFIII coming off a poorly received TF2, basically you need the perfect blockbuster. Also you can add the best comparision of all, ESB. Avatar will not have a 5x multi if it open with 140m! Avatar 2: 2b Avatar 3: 1.8b Avatar 4: 1.3b total: 5.1b he will not get 1b from 5b total Assuming this trilogy WILL keep dropping like you suggested, how about DVD, Blu-ray, TV rights, Games, Merchandise, Theme Park, and everything else? You think Cameron made 350m from the theatrical Avatar alone? Not to mention that Cameron will share higher percentage of the revenue for the sequels. I thought you meant only theatrical revenue
vc2002
I'm sorry. I thought you meant only theatrical revenue He's the writer, director and producer. He didn't sell the right like he did on Terminator, so he's gonna have a percentage share of any cent this franchise is gonna make. And the percentage will only get higher for the sequels. Neo
Avatar will not have a 5x multi if it open with 140m! Did you predict 2B+/600M+ or more like 150M/500M for Avatar, if it was closer to latter I wouldn't rule it out. Don't doubt Cameron.

But this time its a smaller proportion than AVATAR.
Dilusha Bandara
Avatar will not have a 5x multi if it open with 140m! If it doubles the OW, then it won't have even 4x multi. for sure.
