This movie is great. The reveal, that was crazy. Acting and direction are all good. The plot, wow, heavy stuff. So much violence, but they're all justified, thrilling, and served the story well; it's a movie about revenge after all.

 

I'd gave it an A.

 

Kinda looking forward to Spike Lee version, but I don't have much expectations for it, just curious what direction they will take the remake on.

[Water Bottle]

So I had a flight today and I decided to rent Oldboy because it was 99 cents. I knew absolutely nothing about this movie going in other than the vague idea that it was about a guy who was held prisoner for fifteen years and wanted revenge when he got out.

 

The movie was a little too slow at multiple points and it's overly stylized most of the time but the plot is strong and the incest twist at the end? It's the most twisted revenge plan of all time.

 

Like, fuck.

Sympathy for Lady Vengeance is excellent, on reflection I might like it slightly more than Oldboy. Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance is effective but also completely despairing, not as rich and interesting as the other two. They're all worth watching, though.

Just watched them both and agree for the most part. But the whole trilogy was good

Easily one of the best films of the 21st Century. And quite possibly the greatest revenge story every told on the big screen. A must see.
