REVISED Weekend Estimates 6/14--6/16: Man of Steel OW $116.7M($128.7M including WM)

Recommended Posts

I may not live in the us, but surprisingly that's one I hear a lot of people talk about wanting to see. i think it'll do decently like 45m or so. If only it didn't have an insane budget.

Are you in the UK, like me? I'd say I haven't heard anyone talk about WWZ, but then I never talk to anyone about films offline. :(

I'm in Glasgow. (though moving to london in two months!!!) It might help that they filmed quite a bit of it here. Not far from where I live.

$300 should be locked and I don't know why people think $350 is such a hard goal. I've run the numbers for the first 35 days and extrapolated from there:

125 OW

44-45 weekdays (first week, 61% drop on Monday)

45-47 2nd weekend

22-23 weekdays (second week)

26-27 3rd weekend

20-21 weekdays (fourth of July week)

20-21 4th weekend (fourth of July weekend)

10-11 weekdays (5th weekend)

10-11 5th weekend

At that point, it's in the 322-331 range.

With TDKR's multiplier from that point on: $357

TDK: $369

TS3: $373

SM2: $360

TF1: $358

TF2: $351

350M for a reboot.

  • Founder / Operator

Sticking with these projections:

Fri: $44.05m

Sat: $37.0m (-16%)

Sun: $33.86m (-8.2%)

Weekend: $114.91 million

3.5-Day Total: $126.91 million

I still get the feeling WB is going to get it over Spider-Man 1's $114,844,116.

Pretty much right where I was expecting. Incredible opening for this franchise.

What about best cast and worst case scenarios?

$113m is a phenomenal OW for a reboot to a dead franchise, in June no less. Was expecting around 95m OW all summer, but clearly WB's nonstop marketing paid off. Congrats to those who called June record for weeks and congrats to WB for a helluva marketing campaign!
