The aliens at one point actually give the earthlings a trophy for their victory in battle — a real-life Q*bert, both cuddly and terrifying, that whimpers and pees itself when scared.

It looks as silly/light-hearted as Minions, SpongeBob 2, Peanuts and Home, and doesn't appear to have a tearjerker moment like IO does.

The Little Prince and When Marnie Was There are pretentious, but an animated comedy in 2,000 or so theaters? It will only do $20-30m DOM but it doesn't look like it's trying to emulate Bergman or Godard

Shaun is just a cute little kids movie that won't make a lot of money in the US

90s Adam Sandler is currently on the same planet where the aliens took 70s/early-80s George Lucas, Thriller-era Michael Jackson, R-rated Eddie Murphy, and so on.

The only person they've ever returned is non-mocap-obsessed Robert Zemeckis.

They also took the real Rob Reiner, Cameron Crowe, and M. Night Shyamalan and replaced them with aliens as well.
