This seems to have more promise than a normal Adam Sandler movie. The last film I enjoyed that he was involved in was Hotel Transylvania. . .  .but that was a voice acting job.

Problem is he always gets his and his writing team's crummy little paws on the script to his movies whether he's credited or not. So it strongly suggests a squandering of potential.

As far as Happy Madison films go, this looks to be the most different. Even the composer is different (Cap 2's Henry Jackman as opposed to his usual Rupert Gregson-Williams). Of course, different is all about relativity when it comes to Happy Madison.

Well Henry Jackman is absolutely terrible so that might actually be a step in the wrong direction

Rupert Gregson-Williams pretty much always gives Sandler films scores that belong in Lifetime/Hallmark movies, which is befitting since they've become cheap looking TV movies.

Jackman's at his best with the more laid back and fun Disney scores (namely Wreck It Ralph and Big Hero 6).

And since this is a comedy, that doesn't mean the score has to be dramatic or epic-sounding.
