It also means that WOM spread quickly and the legs in the late run indicates that people liked it a lot.  This is box office 101.

Overall multiplier is more important than 2nd weekend drop pertaining to WOM. Noway to spin the 4 multiplier.   

 

GU had a lot of stars in it.  James and Sandler were huge at the time so it's obvious people rushed out to see it.  That's why it fell 53% in the second weekend.  AND it was the July 4th weekend, in which everything fell hard that weekend.  Sometimes you have to paint the whole picture to tell the tale, not just part of it that supports your opinion.  The 4X and late legs are what matters.  

 

After the second weekend, it fell 17, 37, 25 and 38% in the coming weeks.

It's a expected drop as it lost all of the IMAX screens to PR. 300M will be tough but it depends on WB, they can keep it in theater until it hits that milestone like SR(200M).

It wasn't was that bad of a hold, considering it lost more theaters, IMAX and had more competition. I was expecting a 60% drop.

Why would they? WB cared for MOS, they didn't care for Pacific Rim at all.
