This weekend still managed to pull $190M with the top 12! Next week will be the first in a longg time that 2012 gets back on top. August looks miserable too, but im hoping itll be stronger than last years! Nased on circumstances, it should be.

Because that suggests that WOM maybe wasn't THAT great.

The second weekend is the second most important weekend because movies tend to leave theaters a lot quicker than they used to.

You need to just stop for a second and think about this.

We know what it made, it made 4x it's opening weekend.

You can't spin WOM on a movie that came out 3 years ago.

It also means that WOM spread quickly and the legs in the late run indicates that people liked it a lot.  This is box office 101.

No. Its because people are STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPID. In the eyes of fandom, general pubic is retarded for not spending their hard-earned money on geek masturbation material marketed 100% to geeks. Fuck em for picking the sequel to a well-liked comedy with a cast of actors they know and like that was actually sold to general audiences.

This cracked me up

Overall multiplier is more important than 2nd weekend drop pertaining to WOM. Noway to spin the 4 multiplier.  :P  :D

This weekend still managed to pull $190M with the top 12! Next week will be the first in a longg time that 2012 gets back on top. August looks miserable too, but im hoping itll be stronger than last years! Nased on circumstances, it should be.

I would say 'but what about Elysium?', but after Pacific Rim flopped, I don't think that the GA likes original films, and that Smurfs 2 might be the biggest film of the month...

Everything in the top 15 fell more than 40%.  So last week was very inflated.  The MU and DM2 drops are very good.

I see only next week. Then 2012 slowed right down. It was a hard slog to the Looper and Hotel Transylvania.
