I agree. The last one I can think of was the fighter, and even that one barely scraped by 100 mil. Creed will be a success doing 100 mil plus.

That was also gritty and rated R. Creed is looking to be a PG-13 crowd-pleaser.

 

I agree that $100 million 5 day is pretty much impossible though. $60-70 million is the best case for its 5 day and even that's very unlikely lol

Very true. But the original four grossed between $285-$460 million in today's dollars. If it can motivate even a portion of that audience to get out, plus the new generations, it could be a smash. $100 million over 5 days though?  Probably not.

I'm not doubting it w ill make more than 100 million, I'm just saying the chances of it making 100 mill in its first five days are almost impossible.

Wish I could have been around during the original's theatrical run. The movies elements have been copied to death, but I wonder how the initial audiences responded when Gonna Fly Now started playing?  Or when he goes down and struggles to get back up?  

 

I saw on YouTube a Halloween audience reaction clip from 1978. I wish there was one for Rocky!
