Yeah, I like them trying balance old and new.

Still, I'm not sure about the box office for this. Jordan isn't a solo star and stallone is older but it is his iconic role. Depends if people buy into the passing the torch idea.

As a fan of Stallone, Jordan and the Rocky franchise though, I'll be there opening day. I think it's a great idea to freshen it up and I like older actors taking on more mentor roles.

I'm kind of on the fence about this movie. I love the Rocky movies especially the first four. But what I didn't like about Rocky 5 was seeing Rocky as a trainer and not a boxer. So I have a fear I'm not going to care about the Adonis Creed character and miss Rocky as a boxer in this movie.  Plus as much as I like Michael B. Jordan I don't know if he can match Carl Weathers classic Apollo Creed character at all. I do think it's a interesting Idea and I will of course be seeing it opening weekend. But I have my doubts that they will be able to pull this movie off.

Yes, rocky may have lost in the history books, but he won the hearts and minds of everyone in that arena and watching at home!

Just a joke about rooting for the underdog. This movie is going up against its past, the original rockys which are seen as the champ.

November 2015 is too crowded for this to really shine. Spectre, The Martian and Seth Rogen's new comedy will satisfy adult audiences. Good Dinosaur, Midnight Special (supposed to be rated PG) and Peanuts will take away families. Mockingjay 2 will take some of both.

 

Similar numbers to Rocky Balboa (2006) is a best-case scenario unless WB moves it to January/February.

I really don't see Midnight Special opening wide on Thanksgiving weekend with this as direct competition seeing they're both WB.
