That Zootopia drop is actually really good considering its OW had a holiday, most animated films drop much more. This should have a leggy run for a while. KFP3 on the other hand crashes and burns, it better hope it can rebound over Passover, because otherwise it will finish with much less than 2M which would be a pathetic gross for a sequel to two films that made about 3M. 10 Cloverfield Lane unsurprisingly flops. BVS has another bad hold in line with the rest of the world, although not quite as bad, and it opened high enough that the total will still be fine, and will still pass all of the Marvel films. The 5th Wave has a mediocre opening, lower than most YA adaptations, and between the two Percy Jackson's. Passover,The biggest holiday of the year (not counting the summer school holiday) starts on Wednesday, with schools out between April 13-30. expect big increases next week for the animations even while The Jungle Book should have a big opening. The Jungle Book opening is fine but not amazing, in terms of Disney live action fairy tales it easily beat Cinderella(182K) Maleficent (244K) and Oz(246K) but made less than half as much as Alice (876K). final totals could vary greatly but it should pass 2M at the minimum. Zootopia has a good hold and should continue for the next couple of weeks, I'd estimate a total of 2.5M-3.5M. BVS has another relatively weak hold, but it is still on track to beat The Avengers (and Deadpool if it beats the Avengers) as the third biggest superhero film, and bigger than any superhero film that doesn't contain Batman. Deadpool just needs to stay in theatres a bit longer and it will soon pass The Avengers, the question if it can do this before BVS overtakes both. Next week brings The Huntsman Winters War, but I expect The Jungle Book to stay on top. Edited April 19, 2016 by Tower

The reason why because Israel is a beacon of democracy in the chaotic Middle East, and I am interested in the box office of it and the taste of films they like. Unfortunately, while it may have a relatively open and free political climate, its box office reporting very much isn't. We never got numbers outside the Hollywood big 6, but I still tracked those. However, during April numbers stopped being reported entirely. Some numbers have started being reported again and you can find them on Mojo, but they are worse than they used to be with many films being missed out, including big ones like Dory and Suicide Squad. I don't think with the current reporting it would be worth making weekly updates in this thread, so unless things change, I'll leave this thread like this. From what we do know since I have stopped regular updates, the big hits (that we know of) have been The Secret Life of Pets which should second or third for animations ever, and Central Intelligence which has really broken out and is doing relatively speaking about twice as well as domestic.

Unfortunately I have no idea, it's why I don't update this thread every week like I used. Since 2009 when BOM started giving weekly updates, they used to bring numbers only from films released in Israel by the Hollywood big 6 (Disney, Universal, Sony, Paramount, WB, Fox). In April, numbers stopped entirely, and came back a few weeks later. However we now no longer get numbers for Disney, WB and Fox, only Universal Paramount and Sony plus Hollywood films with a local distributor, which includes the Lionsgate films and stuff like the BFG which was a Disney release in NA but had a local distributor in Israel. Suicide Squad is unfortunately WB so there are no numbers for it, same with Finding Dory (Disney) or Independence Day 2 (Fox). Tower
Local distributors still treat box office numbers as trade secrets, and BOM has unfortunately gotten much worse over the year for tracking the Hollywood movies. On the bright side admissions are up again this year to 16.5M-17M admissions (exact numbers will be out in September). Rough estimate for top movies in admissions for 2016: 1: SLOP: 650K 2: Zootopia: 380K 3: Me Before You: 350K 4: The Women's Balcony: 350K (local film) 5: Trolls: 330K 6: The Jungle Book: 310K 7: BVS: 300K 8: The Last Band In Lebanon: 300K (local film) 9: Central Intelligence: 295K 10: Deadpool: 290K 11: London Has Fallen: 280K (Moana might end up with around 300K) Edited January 4, 2017 by Tower
Tower
I stopped giving regular updates since I can't get numbers for many movies, but I have to update for F8. In 2015 F7 broke the OW with $1.608M, and while I can't definitively prove this, I believe it has held it until now. Now being last weekend, when Fast 8 destroyed the OW with $2.885M, beating Fast 7 by 79%. The way the holidays align gave F8 an advantage, and should give F8 worse legs, but this is still an incredible opening.
