Tower
so movies with success in Israel Noah a movie about an Israeli Captain America a movie about a man killing Nazis 300: Rise of an Empire a movie about an astonishing defeat of the Persian army so predictable I have to strongly disagree here. Coming up with reasons in hindsight you can make everything look easily predictable in this way from a geo-political standpoint, but looking more closely: 300 ROA was a sequel to a film that became cult hit in Israel after its theatrical release (but wasn't particularly successful in cinemas). Captain America is a sequel to a film about a guy fighting Nazis which didn't make that much. The second film had a nice increase just like everywhere (although not nearly as high as in some other places) else following the Avengers and Iron Man 3, both of which made much more than Captain America 2. Also, keep in mind that that of the 3 Superhero films we have had this year, CA 2 will make the least. Noah was the one that I think actually had a special advantage, but not because he was "Israeli" (which isn't really true), but because it is based on a very famous story that every Israeli knows. Films last year that made more than any of the above films: 1) Argo 2) Django 3) The Croods 4) Iron Man 3 5) Fast 6 6) Monsters University 7) Despicable Me 2 8) Grown Ups 2 9) Smurfs 2 (more than those 3 films combined...) 10) We're The Millers 11) Gravity 12) Frozen 13) Catching Fire Maybe you should find special Israeli connections for all of these as well... Fullbuster
I don't know why some people can't refrain from seeing Jews like ill-advised people with second thought, particularly in Europe..Some people really need a doctor,it's more than an obsession,it's an illness. What surprises me is the weak Maleficent numbers, after weak Frozen numbers we can say Israelis really don't like fairy tales.. Rsyu
Will Exodus likely be huge here? I'd imagine Moses is one the most important figures in Israel's history.
Tower
Will Exodus likely be huge here? I'd imagine Moses is one the most important figures in Israel's history. It will probably do very well, but it probably could have done better close to Noahs release date. Just before Passover, the biggest national holiday, which commemorates the events in the film.

The hard number itself seems quite good. AIW is gigantic, but then, it was like that worldwide - the first big post-Avatar 3D flick and everyone got suckered into making that utter crap into a billion dollar movie.

Comparing Frozen to fairy tale films that made much less overall might make it look good, but if you compare it to other blockbuster animations its total looks much worse. here is a comparison with all the animated films that made at least 600M WW since 2007: over 600M WW since 2007 Israel gross WW gross % of WW gross Shrek 4 4.52 753 0.6 Madagacar 3 4.51 747 0.6 Toy Story 3 4.42 1063 0.42 Up 3.6 731 0.49 Ice Age 3 3.52 887 0.4 Ice Age 4 3.46 877 0.39 Ratatouille 3.08 624 0.49 KFP 3.06 632 0.48 KFP 2 3 666 0.45 Despicable Me 2 3 971 0.31 Shrek 3 2.77 799 0.35 Frozen 2.34 1245+ 0.19 Monters U 2.17 744 0.29 It is by far the worst in percent, but it's also almost last in total gross as well.
