Back when the trailer came out Lionsgate said they wanted to turn NYSM into a franchise. Have they reiterated that statement since then?

No. In fact, they already signed the cast and the director to another movie lol.

I think its a hold on their time. They get paid a token amount if the movie doesn't happen and released from the hold IMO.

I hope this movie is good, honestly. I enjoyed the first. But eh, it's not the kind of movie I usually go to the movies for to be honest.

The screener last night was packed, they had to turn away some folks(as often can happen). No trailers, went right into the film, also nothing during or post credits.

At first reflection I'd grade the movie a B+/A-

I felt it did a good enough job of introducing our newest Horseman, Lula(Lizzy Caplan). They gave some token lines of dialogue about why Henley(Isla Fisher) wasn't around then moved right on. The props go to the writers for making what was important in the first film and the conclusions there being turned on their head. Like any good magician then the first film was something of distraction and now, the larger, truer reveal is ready. Daniel Radcliffe was enjoyable in the film as well for those curious.

I'd be curious for a third film as newer, fresher paths are laid out before Dillon(Ruffalo) and the Horsemen.

Thanks a lot for your opninion CC:wub:

I mostly enjoyed it too at my screening. I gave it a B in the review section

Hopeully the 3rd part is a go. Im curious about new srotylines without the connection with that one from tha past. Too bad they already signed Chu to direct it.

I vastly prefer Letterier c/b structure & pacing for the first was perfect.

It felt a bit dragged out in compariso with the orig & too sappy at times but still enjoyable if not as rewatchable as the 1st so I would understand it dropping from the orig.

People on twitter mostly agree that the expectations were too high for that & it havent met them fully. Mostly it gets 7/10 as I saw so i def dont agee with RT. Its not THAT bad :D

I really really enjoyed Lizzy & DanRad. I was afraid she will be this chatty bubbly girl that usually annoy me but she was really relatable & not in your face at all! (Merrit's brother on the otehr hand was facepalm worthy imo )

Rad was really OTT & funny especially in the 1st scene & with Michael Caine.

Lionsgate to Make Chinese Spinoff of 'Now You See Me' (Exclusive)

I suppose it makes financial sense considering NYSM2 was such a surprise hit over there. I wonder if any of the original characters will have a cameo though.
