What is wrong with Disney. First, they underreported Endgame India by $2 million, now I checked Aladdin is $0.8mn short as well.

Its Okay, they will fill the 2M gap in the re-release. Maybe they aren't taking daily ER or the account-person is just lazy.

@Charlie Jatinder Endgame re-release confirmed for India, how much $ do you expect it to add ?

Its an extremely limited expansion. In my city (which is the biggest market in the country), only 6 cinemas are showing the movie this weekend and only 1 show a day  and that too 2d. No 3d/4Dx/Imax or anything. It will barely add anything given the limited expansion and the fact that most MCU fans will be going for Spidey instead.

But ‘m very excited, was disappointed at first when I thought it wouldn't be coming to India. Gonna get my tickets for Sat soon.

It seems that Spiderman movies have lost their zing in India ever since the original trilogy ended, TASM2 had opening but that's about it.

Spiderman was the most popular Superhero in India at a point, and now he's not.

FFH just opened to the 2nd highest OD for a solo SH movie, behind only CM. And that too on a Thursday with shitty weather. Only reason SM3 and to an extent the TASM movies did well here was due to better ER. The original SM movies also had no competition in terms of SH movies. Nowadays that is not the case.

Sure Spidey may not hold as big a place in India as it once did, but that is due to the influx of all these other Marvel heroes. And I can confidently say that besides Iron Man, Spidey is still the favourite for most here. His consistency at the BO proves that.

Btw for those interested, FFH's OD is about 47% higher than Homecoming's OD despite opening on a Thursday.

After Homecoming maybe.

After Avenger 3-4 MCU boost the interest in other movie have seen big growth just like what happened post Avengers 1 so Spidey will probably be THE solo player in India after Krish

Neither Homecoming, nor FFH could match the opening of TASM2, the inflation since 2014 has been big and tax rates have changed as well. The difference between decent openings to the big openings that Spiderman movies used to take.

BTW they 47% higher isn't actually true if we compare gross collections. FFH has better tax rates now and it again isn't much of an achievement cause Homecoming's opening was itself poor.

Both TASM and TASM 2 were Holiday releases.
