Biggest OW ever for a Bollywood movie: https://www.boxofficeindia.com/report-details.php?articleid=4076

Sanju has created history in the first weekend with the highest first weekend collections of all time for a outright Hindi film. The film collected a huge 45.50 crore nett apprx and the final numbers could make it the highest day in history for an outright Hindi film. This is without Bahubali - The Conclusion.

The film beat Tiger Zinda Hai which which grossed a little under 115 crore nett in the first weekend. If we exclude Bahubali - The Conclusion this is the first time that a non Khan film has held the weekend record since 2008 when the Akshay Kumar starrer Singh Kinng set a record for the first weekend. That film became the first film to cross 25 crore nett and in ten years collections have gone up almost five fold.

The collections of Sanju for the first weekend are as follows

Friday - 34,00,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 38,25,00,000 apprx.

Sunday - 45,50,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 1,17,75,00,000 apprx

The trend is fantastic in most parts of the country which will mean a good hold on Monday. The only thing is multiplex ticket rates are coming down and most of the biggest films have usually kept rates at weekend levels especially the ones with good word of mouth like this.

Baahubali 2 is a Telugu film (Southern India). Most Indian box office reporting sites focus on Hindi films.

Indian box office is much more exciting than anyone would expect, I mean, how many country on earth can manage to deliver a 200m movie? USA, China, Japan, and India with Baahubali 2.....

Great hold on Monday: https://www.boxofficeindia.com/report-details.php?articleid=4081

Quote

Sanju had an excellent hold on Monday dropping just 27% from Friday as it collected 25-25.50 crore nett apprx. This takes the four day total to a huge 144.50 crore nett and the 200 crore nett mark will be crossed in seven days. The highest first week outside Bahubali - The Conclusion is Sultan at 209 crore nett and that could be beaten by Sanju.

The multiplex ticket rates were dropped from weekend rates which should mean the major drop is baked into the film on Monday and the weekdays should hold very strong from here on. The ticket rates are still at higher level that the normal weekday rate but not at weekend rates.

The collections of Sanju for the first weekend are as follows

Friday - 34,19,00,000

Saturday - 38,41,00,000

Sunday - 46,73,00,000

Monday - 25,25,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 1,44,58,00,000 apprx

The film has chances to beat  Dangal and become the highest grosser for the Hindi film industry. Bahubali - The Conclusion is the highest grosser ever but that is out of the equation.

Biggest day ever: https://www.boxofficeindia.com/report-details.php?articleid=4080

Quote

Sanju managed to create the highest single day in history with a collection of 46.73 crore nett just edging out Bahubali - The Conclusion. Though Bahubali - The Conclusion was without practically all of of Nizam / Andhra and Tamil Nadu / Kerala and much of Mysore and Odisha. If there was no South version of Bahubali - The conclusion then it would have been a 50 crore nett plus Sunday from the Hindi audience.

It know means there have been 7 days recorded over 40 crore nett though no outright Hindi film has ever achieved the 40 crore nett mark on day one. The most impressive number on the list below is the day four of Bahubali - The Conclusion. Sanju has two of the ten biggest single days in history while Bahubali - The Conclusion has four and one each for Tiger Zinda Hai, Dangal, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

The top den highest days in history are as follows.

1. Sanju Day Three - 46.73 crore

2. Bahubali 2 (Hindi) Day Three - 46,27,00,000

3.Tiger Zinda Hai Day Three - 45,53,00,000

4. Dangal Day Three - 41,29,00,000

5. Bahubali 2 (Hindi) Day One - 40,73,00,000 apprx

MI6 - Fallout Excellent Opening - Saheb Biwi Gangster 3 Very Dull

Mission Impossible - Fallout had an excellent opening of 35-40% and may come out among the top five Hollywood openings of all time. The film has easily opened better than the last Mission Impossible film released in 2015 which grossed 6.25 crore nett apprx on its opening day.

The film is completely dominating the box office and has even affected the collections of Dhadak which has been badly hit in the metros. There were two new Hindi films but they have opened very badly. Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 had a low 5% opening while Nawabzaade hardly has any collections.

Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 is the third film of the franchise but the film is not really a brand so its anybodys guess to why the audience has to see this third film. A film only becomes  a brand if it grosses big or does well post release on television and nothing like this has happened with Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster franchise.

Mission Impossible 6 - Fallout had a very good first day as it grossed 9.50 crore nett apprx on day one. It is the sixth highest opening ever for a  Hollywood release in India on its early estimate figure. It could be fifth or seventh on the final figures. .

The last Mission Impossible film Rogue Nation had grossed a little under 6.50 crore nett and there is a 50% improvement in the opening numbers of the franchise in India which is very good. It remains to be seen how the film goes in the long run and the first target will be 55 crore nett which is the lifetime business of Rogue Nation in 2015. Mission Impossible 4 - Ghost Protocol had grossed 46 crore nett in 2011.

The top ten Hollywood opening days in India (first full day) are as follows.

MI6 is having a good day right from morng shows. Morng shows are recording 80-90% occupancies while noon is touching 90+ as of now evening and Night have fantastic bookings.

IMax version has shown growth in terms of occupancies as morng shows are recording 80% noon 70-80% as of now evening and night shows having few seats left.

Expecting 13/20 fulls in IMAX.

In Hyderabad which had worlds one of largest Imax theaters...... MI6 has 5 shows. Its a 650+ seater yesterday it had 3/5 fulls. Today im expecting 4/5 based on bookings.

On the other hand Chennai seems to be going bonkers...... crazy bookings for IMAX version already sold out for the day except few 8/8 fulls based on bookings.

MI6 had amazing day at my place on saturday. Evening and night shows were full in all the plexes except for 2 where the occupancy was around 90%. Even single screens where english movies have lesser reach has recorded very good numbers.

IMAX was a sellout by noon for evening and night shows . 16/20 fulls morning shows recording 90% occupancy.

Morng shows - 1/4 fulls

Noon shows - 7/8 fulls

Evening - 4/4 fulls

Night - 4/4 fulls

Biggest screen in Hyderabad 650+ seater had 4/5 fulls. Morng show recording 80-90% occupancy rest of them fulls by pre sales.

IMAX in Chennai had amazing day as well 8/8 fulls by noon. Even today the bookings are very strong.

MI6 - Fallout Is A HIT - SBAG 3 And Nawabzaade Dull
Sunday 29 July 2019 11.00 IST

Mission Impossible 6 - Fallout showed a huge jump on day two as collections went up by around 35-40% which is excellent for a film which opened well and on top is an action film. The film is looking set to emerge a HIT and could even be a big hit depending on what happens on the weekdays.

The film collected 12.75 crore nett on Saturday to take its two day total to 22 crore nett and the weekend will cross 35 crore nett for sure though growth maybe limited on Sunday which is the case for most Hollywood releases. The collections for MI6 - Fallout till date are as follows.

The top ten Hollywood opening days in India (first full day) are as follows.

Friday - 9,25,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 12,75,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 22,00,00,000 apprx

Mission Impossible 6 - Fallout had an excellent first weekend of 36.25 crore nett and is a HIT film as the trend was also strong with good growth on Saturday and a solid Sunday performance. It should have some sort of hold on Monday which will ensure a minimum HIT status..

It could be that the film matches the business of the last Mission Impossible film in one week. Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation had grossed 55 crore nett in its lifetime and that could be surpassed in one week if Fallout holds well over the weekdays. Jurassic World - Fallen Kingdom had grossed 37.50 crore nett but that was over a four day weekend.. The collections for MI6 - Fallout till date are as follows.

Friday - 9,25,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 12,75,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 14,25,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 36,25,00,000 apprx
