Dhoom 3, had brand in favour, best in India prior to Baahubali. Also general word of mouth was good and of course Christmas.

Ffs Dilwale managed 7X opening day, despite being awful. As strange it may sound, its best trending SRK film barring Chennai Express since Don 2, which also was Christmas release.

Don 2 is so underrated it’s a crime. It’s a genuinely entertaining heist movie which actually makes logical sense in terms of the heist which is so rare in Hindi movies.

2.0 bookings and buzz seems to be over the roof here (HYD). Didn't like the trailers, but they played the TRAILER 1 with Venom and it looked good in 3D. Hope Shankar delivers again with this.

Yes Telugu version booking are good. Tamil is average for such tentpole film. Hindi advance not open yet.

Expecting ₹90-100cr Gross day one.

₹100 crore gross opening day  is foregone conclusion now for 2.0. More like ₹85-90cr opening likely. That would be ₹66-69cr Nett.

So it needs 9-10x the opening day to be a 'hit'?

The euphoria around the film is evident from its pre-sales of over Rs 355 crore. Southern markets alone have gathered Rs 170 crore from advance bookings. The markets in the North too are looking strong for 2.0, which is usually unlikely for films coming from the South. It seems the star power of Akshay Kumar is helping get the attention of audiences from the northern parts of the country where he has a strong fan base.

The distributors are planning a massive release for 2.0 in the Hindi belt. They are targeting approximately 4,000 screens including 2D, 3D, and 17 IMAX 3D screens with 20,000 to 21,000 shows, according to a Koimoi report, a Bollywood news portal.
