I mean ffs Dumbo did almost ₹10cr.

Even Ford v Ferrari will clear ₹17cr. SW should be double that for scale.

This franchise never appealed to the vast majority of Indian audience and that includes Hollywood lovers. Extremely niche. I think the re-release of star wars in the mid 90s kinda failed even though it had a lot of marketing. It could never connect with the audience as there was always something bigger and better and more appealing.

This franchise was a flop in India since the beginning I.e. original trilogy. It's just that not many here are willing to admit it because of their blind worshipping or love for the franchise.

What's the use of scale if no one cares about it?

As i said once, as far as India goes, "Langde ghode pe daanv lagaya hai tumne", infact it isn't doing much better in other countries, i mean a Star Wars grand finale will struggle to beat opening weekend of a Captain America movie in usa.

Watching Don (2006), it's actually noticable how much of mannerisms Don actually showed when he was posing as Vijay posing as Don.

You could see his behaving like him, speaking like him, acting like him and many other details. It's fun finding clues which were all over the movie.

Had it not been the remake, maybe many eagke eyed or even those who watch movies closely could have called the bluff but is being a remake caught everyone off-guard with the ending.

Don is a great ending. The ending also tracks completely when you rewatch the movie, the makers never lie to us. Don doesn't know many things that he should logically know if he was really the other guy and the dialogue literally tells us this over and over. Farhan took full advantage of people knowing the original movie to pull off the twist. When the villain is changed from Om Puri's character to Boman, we think we have spotted the one change from the original but then he hits us with the big twist.

The pink ones are one from 2019. Till date 39 films have crossed ₹200cr in India, with 3 being from Hollywood. 2019, having 8 films in the list, same as last year, it was rather disappointing year for big grossers, with only one film in Top 10, none in top five.
