I'm in Jalandhar, scheduling is ridiculous for SC. F9 has showtimes through out the day including in english while SC has English screening once a day at 10:45 PM which is a fucking joke. @charlie Jatinder

 

Funny thing, I asked at the counter SC was selling substantially better than F9.

Disney slept on release of film somehow. The scheduling was terrible in Punjab. CMP2 is doing crazy well in Jalandhar so I always feared that and wanted to warn you about that. 

 

Weirdly in Jalandhar F9 is doing better than Shang Chi. They only put one English show and it was getting full/almost full every day but have multiple Hindi show.

That fits with the WOM basically everywhere else lol. SC at 91%, pretty good I think.

A full release Shang Chi would have done ₹32-35cr 3 days weekend while F9 around ₹18-19cr 4 days weekend. Ofcourse without piracy F9 may be ₹40cr range.

Sony Pictures Network and ZEE merged. SPN to hold 52.93% stake in the merged entity, while ZEE shareholders will own the remaining 47.07% stake. Sony Promoters to infuse $1.575 bn.

Combined entity will own 75 TV channels, two video streaming services (ZEE5 & Sony LIV), 2 film studios (Zee Studios & Sony Pics India) and a digital content studio (Studio NXT), making it the largest entertainment network in India, bigger than Disney-Star.

Sooryavanshi will likely get a big opening as it will be the first big movie back. I can see 83 doing really well as well. Laal Singh Chaddha in February feels weird, should have tried for Christmas.

March 25 - Doctor Strange. Will be releasing with local horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

April 29/May 6 (Eid/Labor Day) - Thor 2. Releasing with May Day and Heropanti 2.

July 8 (Eid) - Black Panther 2. Nothing announced from Bollywood yet but something will definitely come.

Nov 11 - Marvels. 2 weeks after Diwali get some release generally.

Dec 16 (XMAS) - Avatar 2 vs Tiger 3.

Conspicuous by its absence on the release schedule so far - Brahmastra. At some point, I believe the movie will come out... probably.

Bond used to be big but now its half of what Mission films do.

 

Expecting $1M or lower opening weekend.
