Indian Box Office Thread | Jawan overtakes Pathaan, becomes highest grossing Indian movie of 2023

HUGE pre-sales for National Cinema Day for Brahmastra this FRI. Not gonna change much for film but should force multiplexes to change their business models. Ticket prices have gone out of reach of public for some time now.

I thought that public now simply don't care but if these admits are to go by, they still do. If prices are reduced to say like ₹100-125 at plexes, could change the future of cinema.

They need to bring them down and make Food affordable too. Now may be 15-20% audience buy food because its simply too expensive. By reducing prices to very reasonable, they can increase that 15-20% to 75-80% and that with increased admits shall increase revenue. India has a huge population, they can operate very well even with low prices but with huge volume.

Even in Lucknow, 3D Brahmastra Shows are almost full.
SitaRaman is almost filled up.
Chup is filling up.

Prices really do wonders. If only they reduced price of PopCorn too.

Avatar (re-release) ₹2.2cr opening day. Total now ₹142cr.

Also BOI finally corrected their number for it. Their updated number is ₹105cr NETT.

I wonder if A2 can hit ₹400cr. That's the number I'd like to see.

I don't even remember the last time I bought any food or drink at a cinema. The prices are simply ridiculous, a bucket of popcorn and soda (even small one) cost more than ticket price, sometimes just the popcorn or drink by itself is more expensive than tickets.

And tickets at multiplexes are getting ridiculous themselves, instead of going on OD or OW I now wait till after opening week and go on weekdays

₹700cr may be.

I doubt it will get this high and within 25% of RRR. Unlike RRR or KGF, Avatar will only play well in cities and amongst urban population. Though there is a strong possibility that it will gross more than Endgame due to ticket price inflation

Yeah OD or OW prices nowadays are almost 500 bucks. It's ridiculous 🤣. Also if you want lower rates we gotta wait for atleast 2nd or 3rd week otherwise they don't reduce the price. Food prices are unreasonable to say the least. 500 bucks for medium size popcorn. Ridiculous 🙄

They seem to like going after Indian audiences here in the UK as well, I can't remember the last time an Indian movie was priced on the base level ticket price at my local cinema without some form of surcharge
