Yeah, considering that there are already stills and stuff out there for the movie already, the eight month delay seems like a sign of minimal to no confidence.

That's what I was thinking... Does the studio think April will be better for the movies box office? Because I think Goosebumps would have fared much better against F4.

If its that the movie won't be finished in time; that's another story I guess...

Universal has The Best Man: Wedding on that date of April 15th

If anything, moving Goosebumps to April 2016 says a lot about Sony's confidence in Pixels (their other family-friendly comedy slated for summer 2015)

I guess this really sucks. It's already finished filming, so there is no other explanation for this 1+ year delay. They should have left in in August, atleast try to get those summer weekdays.

Because Universal picked that date first before Sony moved Goosebumps to that very same week. Plus they are counter-programing each other. So what's your point???

Next August is way too crowded so no it couldn't get those summer weekdays. But it can those Spring Break weekdays in April

Thinking they should either move this up to Feb 19 2016 or somewhere in the summer of 2016.

I wouldn't be surprised if this moves to the now vacant October slot left by Jungle Book. Would have thought a comedy horror would play well in October.

Yeah, I have no idea why this wasn't moved there. 

 

Crimson Peak will own October, but it's an R-rated film that looks to be more cerebral than your average horror fare. This would have fit right in.

This is listed as having an estimated 85million dollar budget on IMDB. Is there going to be lots of special effects or something?

I would assume so. They're going to be using a lot of the most famous Goosebumps monsters.

I still think a 45M OW can happen, regardless of release date. This could have a TMNT effect, where all the kids who read the books in the 90s see the movie for the nostalgia.
