Well week 7 is over and what a week it was! Upsets and mayhem all over the shop and a league table unrecognisable for the week before. In fact its such a shake up of a week I'm going to run down each result, starting with top of the table vs bottom of the table:

 

.......Grim22 v Mahnamahna .........

 

The 100% record verses the 0% record and as such surely a forgone conclusion, yet behold!! In a stunning FU to the form book, Mahnamahna came out fighting with a result that not just dented Grim's 100% record but obliterated it in style. Testament to what commitment to the game can bring you. Could be be the beginning of a plummet down the rankings for Grim22 or an astounding fightback up the table from Mahna? Only time will tell...

And so onto second place verses 9th. Maybe not as huge a gap as the match before but a gulf all the same and one that placed CHD as favourite. Yet again however form proves deceptive as an impressive flourish from both players in the final 2 questions left Kingkong the outright winner and marching the right way up the table.

CHD wasn't the only player Kingkong had to deal with this week as he was also paired up against the equally strong Goffe in his second battle of the week. A deceptively low 5th place masked how strong Goffe's start to this game has been and with only one defeat all season surely he would succeed where CHD did not. Yet again though form was to prove a fickle mistress and Kingkong cast aside his second foe and sucessfully claim a double victory for the week that sends him soaring up the table.

Defeats for both of the top two left the door wide open for Filmmovie to make a bid for a top 2 spot. Victory against an opponent in Allison whom had struggled for consistency so far this season seemed assured. Especially considering the odds bookmakers would have given for all of the top 3 to lose would have been astronomical. Yet somehow, Filmovie also succombed to the pressure of flying so high in the table. Allison pulled out all the stops for a famous victory that could well turn out to ignite her own push for glory, whereas Filmovie will now be looking over his shoulder at the chasing pack.

1st place defeated, 2nd defeated, 3rd defeated, 5th defeated. It was now down to Telemachos to restore the credibility of the league's top 5. Can he succeed where all other high fliers had failed. On paper this was the closest matchup of the week, 4th vs 6th, only 2 defeats between them and a place in the top 2 for the victor. Who would triumph... in a stunning grand slam for the underdogs, Films came out on  top and in doing so leaps from 6th to 2nd in the standings. What a week!

Like Mahnamahna, Glassfairy has been plugging away each week like a champion but with little to show for their efforts.Up against Ruthie would this be the time to finally get points on the board? Sadly it wasn't to be, spirited efforts from both players saw Ruthie come out on top and remain in touch with the leading pack. A strong final 5 games could still see her in the frame when the league is over.

Finally among the madness, two players having a quiet but steady season came head to head. With the chaos happening all around them, victory would bring some great rewards whereas defeat could cause one to get lost in the crowd. A midtable match it may be, but there are two directions one can travel from the centre and only one of them is good. Thankfully for Blankments, he was the one to triumph and take advantage of the misfortunes of the top 5. As for Baumer, he had one last chance to redeem himself this week....

... and it slipped through his grasp! A disastrous week for Baumer capped a stunning week for Alisson23 who in one week has leapt from being an also ran to being a contender. In fact with 5 points separating 2nd and 11th after this week, this league couldn't be any closer. For the final time, what a week!
