Take-Two announced this morning that Grand Theft Auto V generated more than $1 billion in retail sales during its first three days on sale. “We believe this marks the fastest that any entertainment property, including video games and feature films, has reached this significant milestone,” Take Two noted in its announcement.

Oh, awesome. Maybe when movie tickets cost $60 this will be relevant somehow?

Well Prisoners wouldn't be doing well in the daytime anyway-the audience for it would be at work. Also older audience films tend to be ones that people see later. (older audiences don't go see films on the OW.)

^Though when I saw films like TLR, Sherlock 2 and Skyfall on there OW's they were full of tons of old people :P (Who really liked all those films :P)

Anyway-Prisoners will still be easily number one.

I'm actually looking forward to Elysium and Planes numbers. I've been tracking their performance so far and both had  decent legs if only they had a stronger OW, they'd be 100m by now

That's true for just about every film that made between 85M-99M this year :P
