it has no sense of rhythm, which is what montage is all about in this movie. it tries way to hard to be smooth and flowing with its lush strings, and it shouldn't be like that at all.

Saw this with the Cinematic Orchestra soundtrack for the first time. No question it's an even better experience than the Nyman version.

i just listened to excerpts, and it didn't work for me. nor nyman's. have you seen the alloy orchestra one?

Nope, not yet. I'll be sure to give it a watch.

 

I doubt excerpts would do justice to the Cinematic Orchestra one - it's a soundtrack that pretty slowly builds and draws you in, it takes a while to get lost in it, but once you do, it becomes an awesome experience. Worked for me, anyway.
