TServo2049
Yeah, that's interesting. DWA themselves never announced that date, nor did Fox. But makes sense. (As we know, not going to be animated at DWA's studio in Glendale; there's speculation it will be done in Canada.) Jonwo
Despite DWA saying they would scale back to 2 films a year, 2017 has three, I do think they should maybe move CU to perhaps August so there is more of a gap between films. I wouldn't be surprised if Boss Baby gets canned.
Yandereprime101189
I wouldn't be surprised if Boss Baby gets canned. God, I hope so. Kinda hope Captain Underpants gets cancelled too
TServo2049
As I said, the original press release said Captain Underpants is going to be lower-budget and done outside of the Glendale studio. There's speculation it will be done at the Montreal animation studio that did The Little Prince (directed by Mark Osborne of KFP1), Katzenberg made a visit there a couple months ago. And as I also said, there has not yet been an official announcement of CU's new date, just that it would be some time in 2017. I was genuinely surprised to see CU put into the 3/10/17 date by BOM, it may have been speculation or a mistake on the part of their source (since that was the old date of the Mumbai musical, maybe they assumed CU was taking its date?) With so much in flux, anything could change (provided this date has actually been set by DWA/Fox to begin with). As of now 3/10 til said otherwise. If so would have done this a few days ago.
Community Manager Water Bottle Posted January 27, 2015 Community Manager Share Posted January 27, 2015 When I was a kid, I wanted this as a live-action comedy with Tim Allen as Captain Underpants That would have actually been pretty great. I think this could work box office wise. Sure, I don't know if six-year olds still read this but nostalgia among our generation, the current popularity of superheroes, and there's potential here for a solid family film...I think this could do well.

grim22
Fox’s CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS no longer has an exact release date and is currently TBD 2017. — BoxOffice (@BoxOffice) September 19, 2015
WrathOfHan
What the hell happened with B.O.O.? Seems weird that it's been nearly a year since it went TBD and we've heard nothing else. Captain Underpants is probably goong to have the same fate. TServo2049
Captain Underpants never actually had a concrete release date announced by DreamWorks, IIRC. I have no idea where the March 10 date came from, I don't even remember Fox announcing it. B.O.O. is probably canned. MrFanaticGuy34
I think the "Captain Underpants" concept is pretty interesting to see how it translates to the big-screen. But some people are criticizing the concept on this way too early and way too much.... Is it because of the title? Cause some people here, think...."oh, really?......Captain Underpants? I mean.....it could turn out to be a good movie as a surprise. At least more well-liked than Shark-Tale. MrFanaticGuy34
Two pages and I don't see this. True...true. But i do have to wonder about the unscheduled release date. Are they gonna movie it to a much safer date, like in January 2018? Or somewhere else?
kayumanggi
Fox and DW are being very careful right now, finally.
Chinoiserie
Good if this is canceled. Not really a promising project and I thought that Dreamworks was moving away from 3 pictures a year plan but there was 3 films planned for 2017.
