The47th
And yet it's a worse feeling to see good ideas squandered through cop-outs and convenient deus ex machina plot devices. Yeah, I mean, that's just my personal view on what I expect from a Star Trek product, either in the form of a film or a TV episode.
Avatree
Agreed on all counts. STID gets a lot criticism and I just don t get it, probably the Khan thing which I don t mind at all. He s still a better villain than Hulk/ banner. I thought ID was good. And better villain than Bruce Banner? What? xD
Jay Beezy
I thought ID was good. And better villain than Bruce Banner? What? xD Actually, perhaps he was referring to Eric Bana, who played the Hulk in 2003.
The Futurist
Actually, perhaps he was referring to Eric Bana, who played the Hulk in 2003. I was, don t even remember the name of the character he played in ST 09.
Jay Beezy
I was, don t even remember the name of the character he played in ST 09. Nero. Knew that off the top of my head. But Nero was created specifically for that movie. Khan was an already established character. So that's not really fair. The47th
Nero. The man who stayed 20+ years on the same place with his starship and his crew (and an unmentioned infinite source of food and energy) just...waiting.

If they had kept the deleted scenes, they'd show him and his crew as Klingon prisoners.

And people bitch about STID ´s plotholes and deus ex machinas. That part of ST 09 always made me chuckle a little like dude, you really want your revenge and you played 20 years of poker while waiting. Jonwo
Itll be interesting to see how Lin approaches the third film because it's the 50th anniversary so I imagine Paramount want to fit in a few references to the past.

I was like, "pretty sure Mark Ruffalo and Edward Norton aren't in Star Trek..." haha.

DAJK
Sure, July may seem crowded, but Star Trek should be able to stand on its own. Thanks for the early Christmas gift Paramount!
