Because there were 3 books originally. The movies segmentation followed the schematics of the books. Lord of the rings is a saga made of three parts. The equivalent of Kill Bill would be cutting FOTR in two. So not the same.

 

Kill Bill the Whole Bloody Affair is Tarantino's ultimate vision of what he originally envisioned, a long-winded movie, not a dyptique. It's only for commercial and exploitation technicalities that he cut the movie in two, artistically it is one self-contained story not a saga like LOTR spanning episodes.

he can consider all his movies to be one movie, still wouldn't change the fact that the poster is factually incorrect. Tarantino does not decide what makes a movie a movie. This is his 9th film to be released in cinemas, end of.

Really like Inglorious Basterds, Reservoirs Dogs, and the Kill Bills. And obviously Pull Fiction is incredibly great.
