I hadn't seen NEMO since it was in theaters.... until a couple months ago, when Tele Jr started watching it incessantly. Now I've seen it a few dozen times.

Even if you account for that, you can take a look at the weekly drops and see they were much leggier than the sequels.

excluding second weekend drop and dollar theater bump, both Pirates dropped in a average of 29%. COTTP did 94m OW 5-Day adjusted and DMC did 166m OW adjusted. Clearly, DMC had the best multiplier.

DMC was a beast of a film in 2006. It was the film everyone was waiting for in the summerIt blasted the opening weekend record in admissions and it also made over 1 billion in 2d 7 years ago.Cf is a Mega hit but no point comparing to an all time hit.
