4815162342
The Chain I know Liam Neeson is Liam Neeson and Liam Neeson is awesome, the plot of this film is too absurd even for Liam Neeson to believably Liam Neeson his way through it. So far only Numerator Pictures has produced good Liam Neeson action/thrillers (The Liam Neeson and Chuck Norris films not counting since they're team-up joints with lots of star cameos).Age of Empires There's solid action and production values, but the plot and characters are muddled. A bit underwhelming, but I look forward to this emergent series tackling the more dynamic historical scenarios drawn from the game.

4815162342
I might take you up on that challenge. (Although obviously not until Y9 (or possibly Q4)) By all means. My diminished writing time/power has cut significantly my Neeson escapades, so I welcome more into the Church of Neeson. The Dependables will be my first "Neeson Team-Up" because I wanted to have a fun action blast.
4815162342
After The Dependables I think I will go back and make a second installment for my just-created "Neeson vs. Space" trilogy. Isolation (Year 6) is retroactively the first outing.

4815162342
Wizardversity The early parts seem far too similar to Harry Potter, though as it goes along it does seem to find its own footing a bit. Some of the world-building is intriguing but there's tons of characters introduced and most don't get any payoff. Godzilla: Apocalypse Part 1 Monster Action Porn. Don't bother with story or characters, just watch the beasts fight and explosions boom. Land of No Left Turns It's an interesting concept of sorts, following a couple on a first date and the people around them over the course of a night. It just felt a bit too sedate and lax and we didn't really get much San Fran energy to push things along.

ChD
I can't be the only one highly anticipating this. I, at least, am not anticipating this mostly because I don't have any movies in the first half, lol.
4815162342
Apologies for the delay, I've come down with a fairly annoying head cold that kinda saps energy from stuff like this. I'll have my top 10 of the 1st half up tonight.

4815162342
American GodsIt's a very intriguing concept and there's a lot of world-building, but for all the details and characters and stuff, there isn't much depth to them at all. The film also sputters a little by having its main climax too soon, having us then spend 15 minutes on an unrelated sidequest before returning to a strong denouement with Shadow meeting a different Odin. It's entertaining but also not that invigorating or inspired once you step beyond the premise.Kill ThemThis film's kind of a stumbling mess with a thinly-stitched plot and characters as thick as paper. Also, Chloe Moretz is 17. WHY IS SHE PLAYING AN ADULT WITH A KID IN SCHOOL?Remember MeIt's a very interesting idea with some strong notes and concepts, but the execution is fairly messy. This film definitely needed to rework some scenes, edit some others, and add in some more character.

WHY IS SHE PLAYING AN ADULT WITH A KID IN SCHOOL? Huh. Missed that one in my review. Anyway, not massively looking forward to Patchwork's review. Or Romeo vs Juliet. I ended up kinda slogging through to try and finish those.
4815162342
PatchworkA modern horror/slasher spin on the Frankenstein project, Patchwork suffers from one major plot hole: No one in 20 years ever bothered to investigate the hospital and discover the rather not hard to find Frankenstein monsters. It's the kind of thing that sort of wrenches the whole plot. As for the rest of the movie, it's generally well-made with appropriate scares and tensions, but the plot kinda goes off the rails in the third act and the final twist seems completely wedged in solely to give the studio an angle for a possible sequel.Time, Space, and One Blue BoxNever watched Doctor Who so some of the material went over my head, but all in all it's a competently made documentary that is reverent to its material and has fine pacing and commentary.

The idea was that Griffith used his top secret government connections to squash any serious investigation into the hospital and that anybody who came across the Frankenstein creatures dismissed them as just medical study things, since they couldn't move until the Scarecrow allowed them. But I must've forgotten to put the lines in there explaining that, so that's my bad. Also, ironically, I don't really have many plans for a sequel. I just added the final twist because it seemed like a cool way to end it.
