Hiccup
September 7-9: Smallest Weekend of the Year Midnight in the Afghan Valley leads the weakest weekend of the year so far with 13.6M. Killer Computer 2 opened well above expectations with a 4.1M weekend. The film was very frontloaded on Friday. The first film got positive reviews and actually hit a 3x multiplier. It appears good will and hype cared over for this small horror film. 1. Midnight in the Afghan Valley- $13,590,864 million (-51.1%) 2. Identity Crisis- $12,107,358 million (-49.8%) 3. The Gold Rare Leaf- $7,299,251 million (-45.9%) 4. Catch that Pigeon- $5,713,333 million 5. The Who’s Tommy- $5,525,049 million 6. Romeo vs. Juliet- $4,384,181 million 7. Killer Computer 2- $4,106,325 million 8. Feed- $2,556,469 million 9. Resonance- $1,767,894 million 10. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - $1,311,250 million September 14-16: Death Note 1st 40+ Opener Since Mid-July Death Note claims the biggest opener since mid-July and is a breath of fresh air for the box office. With few new films entering theaters, Death Note could see some good holds over the next few weekends. Killer Computer 2 plummeted to .9M but should finish above the first film’s 5.6M total. Expect a third film soon. 1. Death Note: The Game Begins- $46,658,231 million 2. Midnight in the Afghan Valley- $7,208,119 million 3. Identity Crisis- $6,050,954 million 4. Resonance- $4,523,997 million 5. The Gold Rare Leaf- $4,000,764 million 6. Catch that Pigeon- $3,618,888 million 7. The Who’s Tommy- $3,312,461million 8. Romeo vs. Juliet- $2,728,335 million 9. Feed- $1,145,606 million 10. Killer Computer 2- $948,833 million (-78.0%) September 21-23: Typical September Weekend Death Note took #1 with 24.4M, while Cinema Studies opened below expectations with 10.9M. Cinema Studies has a fairly niche audiences which is the primary reason it opened so low. However good reviews and an A on the Cinema Score is a good sign it should play well over the next few weekends. Resonance mean while continues to light up the box office with 8.3M. The film goes wide next weekend and might be the break out film of the year. 1. Death Note: The Game Begins- $24,428,577 million (-47.7%) 2. Cinema Studies- $10,934,219 million 3. Resonance- $8,252,378 million 4. Midnight in the Afghan Valley- $3,964,448 million 5. Identity Crisis- $3,234,574 million 6. The Gold Rare Leaf- $2,475,710 million 7. Catch that Pigeon- $2,198,900 million 8. Romeo vs. Juliet- $1,840,002 million. 9. The Who’s Tommy- $1,716,659 million September 28-30: Resonance Claims Top Spot Resonance opened wide with 15.6M. It is weird the studio didn’t go bigger with the amount of theaters. Resonance picked up an amazing $16,987 per theater average. Audiences have given the film a rare A+ on the Cinema Score and reviews are strong. Death Note fell to 14.0M and should finish around 135-140M. The Valley opened with 12.3M, which is mediocre and should have been bigger considering the low horror options. Cinema Studies fell to 7.0M and should continue to drop well. 1. Resonance- $15,577,079 million 2. Death Note: The Game Begins- $14,040,202 million 3. The Valley- $12,334,027 million 4. Cinema Studies- $6,967,308 million (-35.8%) 5. Romeo vs. Juliet- $1,116,472 million. 10. The Who’s Tommy- $1,025,393 million

Hiccup
Alpha...if it is legal you should consider widening Resonance's October theater count.
ChD
Resonance. When reading it, it reminded me a lot of Pi, which isn't exactly a movie I like so I'm not really a fan of it. There are Aronosky fans around who like his movies, so maybe you have a solid shot at getting it. I would've kept it for a Fourth Quarter release instead of a third one, though. Films
I like all my numbers. The garden and flappy bird were solid. The innocent seems strong and if anyone told me identity crisis would still be in the top 10 on October 12, I probably would have laughed in their face
Hiccup
That's definitely a surprise showing for The Mansion. I don't think any of us had it going above $10mil in our predictions. Lack of competition over the Halloween season was the largest contributing factor.
