ChD
I make an animated film of note every 3 years. Each year it has a close loss for Animated Picture. Year 1- The End of the Universe loses to Wings of Icarus Year 4- Sylvarius loses to Spark Year 7- Celluloid Heroes loses to Spark 2: Ignition Year 10- I'm coming for you Spark 3!!!! Year 10 might see the sequel to To The Moon, so don't get yourself too pumped yet, lol ^^
Hiccup
Ouch. It got good legs, at least. Neeeeeeeeeeeevermind. It had HORRIBLE legs. Clearly whoever did the actuals that year didn't like that movie very much. What? It got good legs. I did the actuals and I really liked Spark. Now I consider it one of the best animated films on here. I have a policy about not changing my actuals once posted. The minute I posted the 32.8M number I wanted to take it back. I felt terrible and I won't be that bold ever again. I still feel like I owe Spaghetti.
Ezen Baklattan
We're good now, Hiccup. Besides, it's just a game! That HDH number.... As passive agressive as I was, it would be boring if we had everything follow predictions. Edited May 5, 2014 by Spaghetti
4815162342
Actually, in Y7, we both lost to Amulet. Blame Alpha! Besides, you should be grateful for Spark. You won BP each year a movie came out. (There won't be any doubt if Bronx wins this year, as Alex Spark has a cameo in HDH.) Oh yeah Amulet. Year 7 feels so long ago I forgot that (though not the completely weird Risk Management almost-sweep).

I think it was just because it was about 25m below the lowest OW prediction that everyone was shocked.

rukaio101
Bit lower than I was hoping for FvJvA, but I suppose it was to be expected considering The Mansion's surprising success. I am kinda surprised it hit less than $20mil on its Halloween opening night though

I am kinda surprised it hit less than $20mil on its Halloween opening night though It was pretty front loaded film plus had competition from The Mansion and Dragon Age 3. Still I won't complain with its total gross which should be near 60M. Ironically it should just beat The Mansion in the long run for total gross.

I was expecting it hit even lower after I saw The Mansion's gross. I was just a little surprised that more didn't come from before the weekend started. I was expecting a sub $10mil weekend and maybe $30mil+ from Halloween and Thursday.

rukaio101
Wow. For all my paranoia, Mushishi actually end up beating my expectations. And that second weekend drop, even with no new competition, is a thing of beauty...
