Thurs #s AM2 5.1, DOS 5.0/Don't act like you're not impressed

Recommended Posts

RTH gave us an update and the numbers are good.

Anchorman 2 did 5.1 which is a 37% drop but more importantly if you take the previews out, it represents a 17% drop.  That's a great hold and imo it will have a really good weekend.

DOS is at 5

Frozen 2.2

That's a great jump for Frozen!

Awesome all-around, except for DOS, which has performed weaker than AUJ did thus far.

DOS's path is set.  There are no more surprises.  It's failure is complete.  We know it will finish with 240-270.  Nothing to see here, move along.  This is not the movie you are looking for.

Frozen is ridiculous.  That's about  a 25% jump from last Thursday.

I'm not a box office expert but...

Its a great family movie with great WOM and no real competition.

People that have not seen it are being told to see it.

People that have seen it are looking for excuses to see it again.

After spending $1000 bucks on Johnny's presents Dad wants a sure bet movie for the family to see.

I see a big week next week.

---

Tron lightship battle is amazing... wish I could see this movie on the big screen again.

Catching Fire is on pace to be the biggest grosser in the Holiday period of all time, as well as being the film that represents the largest % (gross and tickets) of the total Holiday Period gross by a margin, and that's before even accounting for 3D.

SS holds the adjusted gross record at just under 415M, which CF cannot touch by January 2nd (last day of holiday season).  But again, nothing is going to match CF's % record (2001 and 2002 are the two biggest adjusted holiday periods on record).
