The article says that Fox has scheduled a comedy for this date.

 

 

In other superhero news, “The Fantastic Four 2″ has moved up from July 14, 2017 to June 2, 2017. A new “Planet of the Apes” movie is taking the sequel’s old release date.

Speaking of dates, Fox will release the comedy “Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates” on July 29, 2016, as the studio expects the film to be a popular summer comedy. “The Hangover” and “Ted” also opened in the summer, as did Fox’s sleeper hit last year, “Let’s Be Cops.”

I would say less exciting rather than weaker. I don't think Apes would make more than 235DOM and 750WW. There's still CW, Finding Dory, Star Wars...

I would guess Serkis directing Jungle Book.

I imagine they wanted more time to finish the script, Andy Serkis has his Jungle Book also in 2017 so they'll probably need to work around his schedule?

I do think this franchise might have reached is peak potential.

But seriously...this franchise has defeated expectations beyond anyone's belief, so who am I to judge. They deserve the time and money to do what they want. They've earned it.

This is a good move. Dawn was 3 years after Rise and that worked great. Making sure it isn't rushed is definitely a good thing.

The title was predictable, so I feel neither strongly against it nor strongly for it. If anyone says they didn't think it would be called War, they are lying.

 

 

I love this new series so much. Can't wait to see my main man again.
