Community Manager Water Bottle Posted January 10, 2014 Community Manager Share Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) What's a pilot you ask? It's the first episode produced in almost every TV show that is ordered by the network. The network looks at the pilot and decides to either make that episode into a series or whether to pass it, for whatever reason. Sometimes the pilot outright stunk or maybe it was too expensive or maybe the network didn't have the nuts to go through with it. The following are the pilots being ordered for POTENTIAL series for the 2012-2013 series. Not all of these pilots will get picked up, and some of the new series that air in that season may skip the traditional pilot season. This season I will try to predict a pilot's chances of being picked up. Obviously, these predictions should be taken with a grain of salt. It's just for fun and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm 100% wrong. The thread will be locked until every network has a post. Community Manager Water Bottle Posted January 12, 2014 Author Community Manager Share Posted January 12, 2014 (edited) CBS COMEDY Name: The 40s Note: Single Camera, Put Pilot Creator: Jonathan Groff (Emmy Nominee, creator of The Jake Effect, Andy Barker P.I., head writer for Father of the Pride, showrunner for Happy Endings, writer for Late Night with Conan O'Brien) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Jonathan Groff Cast: TBD About: A Friends clone with the unique twist being that they live on the same street. Does it Fit the Network: The network's biggest hit is The Big Bang Theory-a similar show-and it's clear the brass are seeking to replace How I Met Your Mother. It fits the network. Will it Be Good: Jonathan Groff is a good writer and he's already proven his worth on the cult hit Happy Endings. Of course, this kind of show depends largely on the chemistry between the friends. Will it Be a Hit: It could be but it's a single-camera project on a primarily multi-cam network. It doesn't help that Groff has yet to have an actual mainstream hit. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: 7% Name: Gaffigan Note: Single-camera, pilot was previously developed last season Creator: Jim Gaffigan (writer of comedy albums Beyond the Pale and King Baby) and Peter Tolan (Emmy winner, creator of Style & Substance, The George Wendt Show, Wednesday 9:30 (8:30 Central), co-creator of the Job and Rescue Me) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Jim Gaffigan Peter Tolan Alex Murray (producer of Jim Gaffigan: King Baby, Jim Gaffigan: Beyond the Pale, and Jim Gaffigan: Mr. Universe) Michael Wimer (producer of Trade, 10,000 BC, and 2012) Cast: Jim Gaffigan (My Boys, Welcome to New York)...Jim Gaffigan Ashley Williams (Margin Call, Something Borrowed, Montana Sky, How I Met Your Mother, Wedding Band, Warehouse 13, Saving Grace, Novel Adventures, Slice Order of Life, Huff, E-Ring, Good Morning, Miami, As the World Turns)...Jeannie Gaffigan Adam Goldberg (Saving Private Ryan, Head Cases, The Hebrew Hammer,, The Prophecy, Friends, The Unusuals, NYC 22)...Dave Ready Tongayi Chirisa (Studio 263, Crusoe)...Father Nicholas Ngunhumbane About: A husband and father (Jim Gaffigan) of five who lives with his wife (Ashley Williams) in a two-bedroom New York apartment. Allegedly based of Jim Gaffigan's real-life. Does it Fit the Network: The single-camera is an odd shoe out but I'm guessing this could be paired with The Millers or Mom due to their shared family aspect. Will it Be Good: There must be something here for the network to try a second time with this project. I wouldn't be surprised if last time it was a problem of chemistry rather than with the script. Will it Be a Hit: It could be but it's a single-camera project on a primarily multi-cam network. Gaffigan might have the fanbase to give this an initial audience. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: 8% Name: Good Session Note: Single-camera, Put Pilot Creator: Mathew Miller (creator of Grown Ups, producer of Last Vegas, Big Brother, Human Target, Chuck, 666 Park Avenue) and John Hamburg (writer of Safe Men, Meet the Parents, Zoolander, Along Came Polly, Meet the Fockers, I Love You Man, and Little Fockers) Other: Director: John Hamburg (director of Safe Men, Along Came Polly, I Love You, Man, director for New Girl, Welcome to the Captain, Stella, and Undeclared) Producers: Mathew Miller John Hamburg Cast: TBD About: A thirtysomething couple visits couples counseling sessions to determine if their ready to have kids or not. Does it Fit the Network: The storytelling-frame could fit in the same network that brought us How I Met Your Mother. The only problem is that it's single-camera. Will it Be Good: Matt Miller and John Hamburg are two funny comedy writers and they should be able to crack a funny script together. The couple's chemistry, though, is going to be crucial for this project. Will it Be a Hit: It could be but it's a single-camera project on a primarily multi-cam network. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: 7% Name: Gorgeous Morons Note: Multi-camera, put pilot Creator: Daniel Chun (Emmy nominee, head writer for The Office, writer for The Simpsons and Happy Endings), Gene Stupnitsky (Emmy Nominee, producer for the Office, Trophy Wife, Bad Teacher, creator of Hello Ladies), and Lee Eisenberg (Emmy Nominee, producer for the Office, Trophy Wife, Bad Teacher, creator of Hello Ladies) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Daniel Chun Gene Stupintsky Lee Eisenberg Cast: TBD About: A merely attractive female literature PhD moves in with two dumb handsome brothers. Hilarity ensues. Does it Fit the Network: It seems like an opposite version of the Big Bang Theory so sure. Will it Be Good: It has some good writers behind the project but it's multi-cam format and premise simply sound like a one-note premise that can't really drive a series. Will it Be a Hit: It might be. It's similarity with The Big Bang Theory might make it paired with it but it's premise could also be a tough sell. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: 9% Name: How I Met Your Dad Note: Multi-camera, spin-off of How I Met Your Mother Creator: Carter Bays, Craig Thomas, (Emmy Nominees, co-creators of How I Met Your Mother and The Goodwin Games) and Emily Spivey (Emmy winner, creator of Up All Night, writer for Saturday Night Live) Other: Director: Pamela Fryman (Emmy-nominee director for How I Met Your Mother, Mom, and Friend Me) Producers: Carter Bays Craig Thomas Emily Spivey Pamela Fryman Cast: TBD About: How I Met Your Mother told from the female perspective with completely new characters. Does it Fit the Network: A spin-off of one of their big comedy hits? Yes. Will it Be Good: It has some good behind-the-scenes talent and How I Met Your Mother was a good show once. There's a chance this show might be good but there's also a chance that the creators are trying to milk an already-dry premise. Will it Be a Hit: The reaction to the spin-off has been ambivalent at best as many people are only watching How I Met Your Mother to see how it ends rather than because it's funny. How I Met Your Mother has the fanbase to launch a spin-off...but it's questionable if their interested in one to begin with. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: 11% Name: Little Mom Note: Single-camera, put pilot, based on the Isreali series Haverot created by Yaov Gross, Lital Schwartz, Shay Ben-Atar, and Liat Shiav Creator: Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky (Emmy Nominees, writers for Undergrads, Sex and the City, Six Degrees, Army Wives, and Smash) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Julie Rottenberg Elisa Zuritsky Greg Berlanti (creator of Everwood and Political Animals, co-creator of Jack & Bobby, Eli Stone, No Ordinary Family, Arrow, producer of The Tomorrow People) Melissa Kellner Berman (producer of Dirty Sexy Money, Eli Stone, No Ordinary Family, Political Animals, Arrow, The Tomorrow People) Cast: TBD About: Three mothers who live in the same Brooklyn high-rise. They go through life together and hilarity ensues. Does it Fit the Network: I don't really see this on CBS as it's a single-camera family comedy. Will it Be Good: I'll have to see who the cast is but the trailer for the Isreali series wasn't that funny. Will it Be a Hit: It could be but it's a single-camera project on a primarily multi-cam network. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: 2% Name: The McCarthys Note: Multi-camera, pilot was previously developed last season as a single-camera comedy Creator: Brian Gallivan (writer for Are You There, Chelsea? and Happy Endings) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Brian Gallivan Richie Schwartz (producer of Black Swan, Machete, The Departed, Gangs of New York, and The Aviator) Will Gluck (creator of the Loop, producer of Easy A and Fired Up!) Cast: Jack McGee (Rescue Me, Players)...Arthur McCarthy Joey McIntyre (New Kids on the Block, Boston Public)...Gerard McCarthy Laurie Metcalf (Golden Globe Nominee, Emmy Winner, Roseanne, Desperate Housewives, Monk, 3rd Rock from the Sun, The Big Bang Theory, Scream 2, Making Mr. Right, JFK, Mistress)...Marjorie McCarthy Jimmy Dunn (Stuck on You)...Sean McCarthy About: A gay son (TBD) who wants to spend less time with his Irish-Catholic, sports-crazed Boston family. Does it Fit the Network: This family comedy could ideally be paired with The Millers or Mom. It helps that it's now a multi-cam project which should make it easier to fit in on the network. Will it Be Good: There must be something here for the network to try a second time with this project. It's possible that a change in format might make the show click. Will it Be a Hit: This could do well in the ratings if it's scheduling is tight. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: 13% Name: Middlescence Note: Multi-camera, put pilot Creator: Jeff Astrof (writer for Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, Duckman: Private Dick/Family Man, Friends, It's Like, You Know..., In-Laws, Grounded for Life, The New Adventures of Old Christine, $#8! My Dad Says, How to be a Gentleman, and Partners) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Bill Lawrence (creator of Scrubs and co-creator of Cougar Town, Clone High, and Spin City, producer of Undateable, Surviving Jack) Jeff Astrof Jeff Ingold (producer of Surviving Jack) Cast: TBD About: A married couple struggling to raise their two kids, her older brother, and his mom. Does it Fit the Network: This is a project that could be paired with Mom or the Millers. Will it Be Good: Bill Lawrence's involvement is promising but I'm not convinced yet. It doesn't help that the premise sounds so conventional. Will it Be a Hit: It could be a hit if it has the right cast member and the right marketing behind it. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: 9% Name: More Time with Family Note: Multi-camera, put pilot Creator: Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith (co-creators of Big Day and 'Til Death) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Cathy Yuspa Josh Goldsmith Ben Affleck (Academy Award Winner, producer of Argo, Project Greenlight, Project Greenlight 2, Project Greenlight 3) Matt Damon (Academy Award Winner, producer of Project Greenlight, Project Greenlight 2, Project Greenlight 3) Josh Lieberman (producer of Dave's Old Porn, Tom Papa: Freaked Out) Dave Becky (Emmy Nominee, producer of Louie, Mr. Rhodes, The Hughleys, The Tracy Morgan Show, Lucky Louie, Human Giant, Everybody Hates Chris, Bored to Death) Cast: Tom Papa (Host of the Marriage Ref, Behind the Candelabra, The Informant!, The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, Comedian, Bee Movie, The New Adventures of Old Christine)... About: A man (Tom Papa) gives up his life on the road to spend it with his family-even though they didn't want him to. Does it Fit the Network: This could be paired with the Millers or Mom. Will it Be Good: That's really up in the air. It could be a good show but it's not exactly like Big Day or 'Til Death were that good. It has some big-name producers but only Dave Becky gives me any confidence. Tom Papa can be funny but he can also be hit-and-miss. I'm willing to give it a chance but I'm not hopeful at this point. Will it Be a Hit: I'm not sure that Tom Papa has the fanbase to actually launch a comedy but this could be the project to really launch his stardom. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: 10% Name: Punching Out Note: Single-camera, Put Pilot Creator: John Francis Daley (co-writer of Horrible Bosses, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone) and Jonathan Goldstein (co-writer of Horrible Bosses, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, writer for The Pjs, The Geena Davis Show, Good Morning Miami, Four Kings, The New Adventures of Old Christine) Other: Director: TBA Producers: John Francis Daley Jonathan Goldstein Katherine Pope (producer of Terra Nova, Breakout Kings, Ben and Kate, New Girl, Touch) Peter Chernin (producer of Allen Gregory, Terra Nova, Breakout Kings, Ben and Kate, New Girl, Touch) Cast: TBD About: Three thirtysomething guys decide to go back to working at the malls because they hate their jobs. Does it Fit the Network: 2 Broke Girls would almost be the ideal pairing for this project so it does fit-if it was multi-cam. Will it Be Good: It might be as John Francis Daley has proven himself to be a good writer and Jonathan Goldstein is a veteran comedy writer. Will it Be a Hit: It could be but it's a single-camera project on a primarily multi-cam network. I wouldn't be surprised if John Francis Daley is added as a cast member to help sell the project. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: 3% Name: The Runt Note: Single-camera, put pilot Creator: Kay Cannon (Emmy Nominee, writer for 30 Rock, New Girl, writer of Pitch Perfect) Other: Director: Jason Winer (Emmy Winner, director for Modern Family, 1600 Penn, Kath & Kim, Samantha Who?, Carpoolers, New Girl, Don't Trust the B--- in Apartment 23, The Crazy Ones and director of Arthur) Producers: Kay Cannon Jason Winer Renate Radford Cast: TBD About: A group of five siblings from the point of view of the...well it's in the name. Does it Fit the Network: It would if it was multi-cam but it's single-cam nature makes it a tough match. I'm guessing CBS might pair it with The Crazy Ones. Will it Be Good: Cannon is a pretty talented writer who was mentored by the great Tina Fey and Winer is a pretty good director. It depends on the cast, especially the lead, but this might be good. Will it Be a Hit: It could be but it's a single-camera project on a primarily multi-cam network. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: 9% Name: Untitled Goldberg-Meehan, Mandel, & Silveri Project Note: Multi-camera, put pilot. Creator: David Mandel (co-creator of Clerks: The Animated Series, writer for Seinfeld, Saturday Night Live, Curb Your Enthusiasm, co-writer of EuroTrip and The Dictator), Scott Silveri (co-creator of Perfect Couples and Joey, creator of Go On), Shana Goldberg-Meehan (co-creator of Joey, creator of Better with You) Other: Director: Andy Ackerman (director for Seinfeld, New Adventures of Old Christine, Curb Your Enthusiasm) Producers: David Mandel Scott Silveri Shana Goldberg-Meehan Cast: TBD About: A couple with adult children. What a revolutionary idea. Does it Fit the Network: I think this could fit perfectly with the Millers or Mom. Will it Be Good: This could be a good show as the creators worked on the best comedies from the nineties...but they haven't really done much since their shows ended. It will very much depend on the cast. Will it Be a Hit: This could easily become a dependable ratings earner for CBS. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: 12% Edited January 14, 2014 by Water Bottle

Community Manager Water Bottle Posted January 13, 2014 Author Community Manager Share Posted January 13, 2014 (edited) CW DRAMA Name: The Flash Note: Spin-off Arrow Creator: Greg Berlanti (Emmy Nominee, creator of Everwood and Political Animals, co-creator of Jack & Bobby, Eli Stone, No Ordinary Family, Arrow, The Tomorrow People), Geoff Johns (Emmy Nominee, writer for Robot Chicken, Blade: The Series, Justice League, Titan Maximum, Smallville, Arrow) and Andrew Kreisberg (co-creator of Arrow) Other: Director: David Nutter (directed pilots Space: Above and Beyond, Millennium, Sleepwalkers, Roswell, Dark Angel, Smallville, Without a Trace, Dr. Vegas, Tarzan, Jack & Bobby, Supernatural, Traveler, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, The Mentalist, Eastwick, Chase, and Arrow) Producers: Greg Berlanti Geoff Johns Andrew Kreisberg David Nutter Cast: Grant Gustin (Arrow, Glee, 90210)...Barry “The Flash” Allen Jesse L. Martin (Rent, Law & Order)...Detective West Rick Cosnett (The Vampire Diaries, The New Inventors, Forensic Investigators, The Trojan Horse, The Elephant in the Room)...Detective Eddie Thawne Danielle Panabaker (Stuck in the Suburbs, Read It and Weep, Shark, Friday the 13th, The Crazies, The Ward, Piranha 3D, Sky High, Mr. Brooks)...Caitlin Snow Candice Patton (The Game, The Bold and the Beautiful, Sorority Forever, The Craigslist Killer, The Young and The Restless)...Iris West Carlos Valdes...Cisco Ramon About: Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is an assistant police forensics investigator who sometimes fight crime as the superhero The Flash. Does it Fit the Network: A spin-off to one of their hits? Yes. Will it Be Good: I have no doubt that this show will be good. Berlanti has proven he's a good writer and Arrow has simply been fantastic. Will it Be a Hit: It might lose some of Arrow's audience but it should at least do well enough to get renewed a few times. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: 50% Name: Identity Note: Based on Isreali feature script Dance of the Hours by Orna Raiz Creator: Corinne Brinkerhoff (Emmy Nominee, writer for Boston Legal, The Good Wife, Elementary) Other: Director: Gary Fleder (director of Things to Do In Denver When You're Dead, Kiss the Girls, Don't Say a Word, Imposter, Runaway Jury, The Express, and directed for Beauty and the Beast, Vegas, Life Unexpected, Happy Town, Life on Mars, October Road, The Evidence, Blind Justice, The Shield, Star-Crossed) Producers: Corinee Brinkerhoff Alex Kurtzman (co-creator of the Secret Service, Fringe, Hawaii Five-O, Sleepy Hollow) Alon Aranya (producer of Hostages, Betrayal) Heather Kadin (producer of Sleepy Hollow) Rob Golenberg (producer of Frasier, How I Met Your Mother, Betrayal) Roberto Orci (co-creator of the Secret Service, Fringe, Hawaii Five-O, Sleepy Hollow) Cast: TBD About: A young woman from Brooklyn is recruited by the CIA to infiltrate her recently discovered Texan family due to their suspected part in a global criminal alliance. Does it Fit the Network: This project seems to combine the CW's reputation for teenage soaps with it's current trend of young adult genre programming-it fits perfectly. Will it Be Good: Brinkenhoff has worked on some pretty good shows and Kurtzman/Orci are generally good producers. It sure seems like this might be good. Will it Be a Hit: I could see this doing well on the CW but it'll depend a lot on the female lead. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: iZombie Note: Based on the DC Comics title created by Michael Alfred and Chris Robertson Creator: Rob Thomas (creator of Veronica Mars and Cupid, co-creator of 90210, Party Down) and Diane Ruggiero (creator of The Ex List and That's Life, writer for Veronica Mars) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Rob Thomas Diane Ruggiero Dan Etheridge (co-creator of Party Down, producer of Cupid, Party Down, The Carrie Diaries) Danielle Stokdyk (producer of Veronica Mars, Big Shots, Cupid, Party Down) Cast: TBD About: A medical student-turned-zombie takes a job at the coroner's office to get her daily supply of brains-only she gets their memories. She uses these memories to help the police solve crimes. Does it Fit the Network: This procedural could fit with Beauty and the Beast very well but it could pair with almost every CW show. Will it Be Good: This will either be a huge disaster like Cupid or critical darlings like Veronica Mars and Party Down. Will it Be a Hit: I know Rob Thomas and this comic have their own fanbases but I'm wondering if their large enough to actually launch a show: it doesn't help that this premise is so out there it might be a difficult sell. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Jane the Virgin Note: Based on the Venezuelan telenovela Juana La Virgen created by Perla Farias Creator: Jennie Snyder Urman (creator of Emily Owens, M.D.) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Jennie Snyder Urman Jorge Granier (producer of Que El Cielo Me Explique, Libres, Como El Viento, Calle luna, calle sol, Pablo of Medellin, and Angelica pecado) Gary Pearl (producer of 10.5, 10.5: Apocalypse, A Chance of Snow, Liberty Stands Still) Ben Silverman (producer of 30 Days, House of Boateng, Kath & Kim, Ugly Betty, The Tudors, Mob Wives: Sit Down, Massholes, The Office, The Biggest Looser, and K-Town) Cast: TBD About: A religious girl accidentally gets artificially inseminated-as these things happens. Does it Fit the Network: I guess this could fit with the CW? It depends a lot on the tone and execution but I could see this fitting with The Carrie Diaries or Hart of Dixie. Will it Be Good: Emily Owens M.D. wasn't that good but maybe Silverman can get a good project out of this. Will it Be a Hit: It might get controversy in Middle America but the CW is small enough that it shouldn't matter...this might be a reliable performer for the CW but I don't see it being a hit. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: The Messsengers Note: None Creator: Eoghan O'Donnell (writer for Teen Wolf) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Eoghan O'Donnell Ava Jamshidi Basil Iwanyk (producer of The Town, Clash of the Titans film series, The Expendables film series) Kent Kubena (producer of Project Greenlight, Akeelah and the Bee, Turistas, Black Christmas, Lost Boys: The Thirst) Ted Humphrey (producer of The Good Wife, The Unit, Shark, The Nine) Cast: TBD About: A mysterious object crashes on Earth, kills strangers, but they come back as the angels of the upcoming apocalypse. Sure, why not? Does it Fit the Network: Or the CW might be trying to have a religious block with Jane the Virgin and the Messengers? Anyways, I feel this potential series could fit with a few other CW science fiction shows as well. Will it Be Good: It's discouraging that O'Donnell has only one scripted show to his credits but there's a chance this might be good. Will it Be a Hit: I could see this doing well on the CW but it could also be one of their one-season shows. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Supernatural: Tribes Note: Spin-off Supernatural Creator: TBA Other: Director: TBA Producers: Jeremy Carver (producer of Supernatural, co-creator of Being Human) Robert Singer (producer of The New Mike Hammer, V: The Final Battle, V, Midnight Caller, Reasonable Doubts, Charlie Grace, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Timecop, Turks, Falcone, Hack, Supernatural) Cast: TBD About: Hunters and monsters in Chicago. Does it Fit the Network: A spin-off to one of their longest running hits? Yes. Will it Be Good: I'm going to wait until I know whose writing the backdoor pilot and whose the lead before casting judgment here but I think it's hopefully safe to say that if you like Supernatural then you'll like this show. Will it Be a Hit: It'll lose some of Supernatural's audience (as spin-offs tend to do) but it should still do well to last a few seasons. Community Manager Water Bottle Posted January 13, 2014 Author Community Manager Share Posted January 13, 2014 (edited) FOX COMEDY Name: Cabot College Note: Multi-camera, blind series commitment Creator: Matt Hubbard (Emmy winner, writer for 30 Rock, Joey, Parks and Recreation, Avatar: The Last Airbender) Other: Director: Pamela Fryman (Emmy-nominee director for How I Met Your Mother, Mom, and Friend Me) Producers: Matt Hubard Pamela Fryman Tina Fey (Emmy Winner, Golden Globe Winner, producer of 30 Rock) David Miner (Emmy Winner, producer for Greetings from Tucson, The Tracy Morgan Show, Carpoolers, Human Giant, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) Robert Carlock (Emmy Winner, producer for Friends, Joey, 30 Rock) Cast: Bonnie Dennison (Third Watch, Guiding Light, Stake Land, Black Irish)...Thena Jack Cutmore-Scott...Charlie Deckard Fortune Feimster (Chelsea Lately, Workaholics)...Becca About: A women's college starts accepting men. Hilarity ensues. Does it Fit the Network: A multi-cam comedy doesn't really fit anywhere on FOX's schedule. Will it Be Good: On the one hand, almost every single FOX multi-cam project in the last few years has been atrocious. The last blind series multi-cam commitment gave them Dads. On the other hand, this is coming from Tina Fey and has good behind-the-scenes talent. This might be the multi-cam show FOX has been looking for this whole time. I am a bit worried about how one-note the premise could be. Will it Be a Hit: I'm not sure if FOX can actually launch a multi-cam because it is a single-cam network. The premise simply sounds like a sit-com from the sixties or seventies...outdated. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Dead Boss Note: Single-camera, based on the British Series Dead Boss created by Sharon Horgan Creator: Patricia Breen (writer for Becker, Frasier, Lucky Louie, Twenty Good Years, Big Love, Wilfred, Suburgatory) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Patricia Breen Sharon Horgan (co-creator of Pulling and Dead Boss and creator of Angelo's) Aaron Kaplan (producer of Terra Nova, GCB, The Inbeetweeners, The Neighbors, Back in the Game, Chasing Life) Cast: TBD About: A woman tries to prove her innocence after being falsely convicted of killing her boss. Hilarity ensues? Does it Fit the Network: The premise is so...dramatic that I'm not convinced it goes anywhere on any of the network's schedules. Will it Be Good: I guess it could be but it'll depend a lot on the cast and the execution of the show. The trailer for the British show wasn't that funny but then again it is British humor. Will it Be a Hit: This could easily become a cult hit but I doubt it could attract a mainstream American audience. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Fatrick Note: Single-camera Creator: Nahnatchka Khan (Emmy nominee, creator of Don't Trust the B*** in Apartment 23 and writer for American Dad) and Corey Nickerson (writer for The Jaime Kennedy Experiment, The Bernie Mac Show, The Class, My Boys, Chuck, Scrubs, Mad Love, Don't Trust the B*** in Apartment 23, and The Crazy Ones) Other: Director: Jim Rash & Nat Faxon (Academy Award winners, directors of The Way Way Back, co-writers of The Descendants) Producers: Nahnatchka Khan Corey Nickerson Jim Rash Nat Faxon Kevin Walsh (producer of The Way Way Back) Cast: Zach Cregger (The Whitest Kids U'Know, Friends with Benefits, Guys with Kids)...Patrick TBA...Fatrick Marcia Cross (Golden Globe Nominee, Emmy Nominee, Melrose Place, Desperate Housewives, Everwood, Knots Landing, One Life to Live, Another World)...Arlene TBA...Leslie TBA...Karen Ray Ford (Grey's Anatomy, Don't Trust the B*** in Apartment 23)..Maurice Dante Hoagland (30 Rock)...Young Maurice Lucy Rust (Camille)...Young TBA About: Patrick (Zach Cregger) has to face the lasting damage that being a chubby, fat kid nicknamed Fatrick (TBA) has had on him. Does it Fit the Network: This seems like Schmidt: The Series (the character from New Girl) so it could fit. Will it Be Good: I think this could actually be very funny. Faxon and Rash are two funny guys, Khan created one of the freshest, boldest network comedies in years, and their collaboration really excites me. Will it Be a Hit: I'm not sure due to the complicated premise if this will be a hit but it should do respectable numbers. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: The Henchman Note: Single-camera, put pilot Creator: Dan Kopelman (writer for The New Addams Family, Big Wolf on Campus, Malcolm in the Middle, Listen Up, Big Day, Notes from the Underbelly, True Jackson, VP, Rules of Engagement) Other: Director: John Hamburg (director of Safe Men, Along Came Polly, I Love You, Man, and director for Undeclared, Stella, Welcome to the Captain, and New Girl) Producers: Dan Kopleman John Hamburg Aaron Kaplan ( producer of Terra Nova, GCB, The Inbeetweeners, The Neighbors, Back in the Game, Chasing Life) Cast: TBA About: A single father facing impending middle age is the henchman to the world's worst super-villain. Does it Fit the Network: This high-concept comedy doesn't really pair well with any of FOX's shows but I could see it on Friday night with Raising Hope and/or Enlisted for some reason. Will it Be Good: It's hard to tell since the behind-the-scenes talent can create something but I'd like to know the cast and try to get a hint of the tone before I commit. Will it Be a Hit: It's likely it's a cult hit but the Despicable Me popularity might rub off on this show. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Here's Your Damn Family Note: Multi-cam, cast contingent Creator: Ricky Blitt (creator of The Winner, Romantically Challenged) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Ricky Blitt Johnny Galecki (producer of Bagtime) Stephen McPherson (former president of ABC) Cast: TBD About: A thirty year old man who lives with his mom has to deal with a new situation when she gets married to a new husband who moves his three teenage kids into the house. Does it Fit the Network: If Dads comes back then this would be the show to pair it with. Otherwise, I don't see it. Will it Be Good: The Winner and Romantically Challenged weren't very good shows so I'm doubtful. Will it Be a Hit: FOX has struggled to launch multi-cam comedies and this doesn't sound like the show to break the trend. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Last Man on Earth Note: Single-camera, put pilot Creator: Will Forte (Emmy Nominee, writer for The Jenny McCarthy Show, Late Show with David Letterman, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Action, The Army Show, That 70's Show, MTV Movie Awards writer of MacGruber, Extreme Movie, the Brothers Solomon) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Will Forte Chris Miller (producer of Clone High, How I Met Your Mother, Cracking Up, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) Phil Lord (producer of Clone High, How I Met Your Mother, Cracking Up, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) Seth Cohen (production manager of Workaholics, Drunk History) Cast: TBD About: Two strangers must find a way to get along to ensure the survival of the human race. Does it Fit the Network: Not really. What is it with FOX ordering a lot of high-concept comedies this time around? Will it Be Good: Will Forte has a lot of experience (good and...questionable) so this should at least be funny but the premise sounds more like a one episode idea rather than an actual series. Will it Be a Hit: It could break out but this seems more like a cult hit-and a niche one at that. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: The Longest Date Note: Single-camera, put pilot, based on the upcoming marriage memoir The Longest Date: Life as a Wife by Cindy Chupack Creator: Cindy Chupack (Emmy Winner, creator of Love Bites, writer for Everybody Loves Raymond, Modern Family, Sex and the City) Other: Director: Jake Kasdan (Emmy Nominee, director for Freaks and Geeks, Grosse Point, Undeclared, Ben and Kate, New Girl, director of Zero Effect, Orange County, Bad Teacher, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story) Producers: Cindy Chupack Jake Kasdan Melvin Mar (producer of Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Bad Teacher) Cast: TBA About: You've never seen a show about matrimony, right? 'Cause that's what this show is about. Does it Fit the Network: I could actually see this going on Tuesday night paired with The Mindy Project. It could alternatively work with Raising Hope. Will it Be Good: It might be but I'd like to learn more before speculating-although Chupack already has experience having written for Everybody Loves Raymond. Will it Be a Hit: It should do respectably but it'll have to have a big name to break out. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Man/Child Note: Single-camera, put pilot Creator: Reed Agnew (writer for Too Late with Adam Carolla, Drawn Together, Crank Yankers, The Andy Milonakis Show, Wilfren) and Eli Jorne (writer for Wilfred) Other: Director: Jason Winer (Emmy Winner, director for Modern Family, 1600 Penn, Kath & Kim, Samantha Who?, Carpoolers, New Girl, Don't Trust the B--- in Apartment 23, The Crazy Ones and director of Arthur) Producers: Reed Agnew Eli Jorne Jason Winer Damon Wayans Jr. Michael Lasker (production manager of Nick Kroll: Thank You Very Cool) Christie Smith (producer of The Jeselnik Offensive, Tosh.0) Renate Radford Cast: Damon Wayans Jr. (My Wife and Kids, The Underground, Happy Endings, New Girl) About: Two single dads (Damon Wayans Jr./TBA) move in together. Does it Fit the Network: I guess the closest thing to having Damon Wayans Jr. regularly on New Girl is on promos for this project. New Girl would serve as a great lead-in to this project but Raising Hope could also work. Will it Be Good: It has experienced writers and a good director but it'll depend on who they cast alongside Damon Wayans Jr.. Will it Be a Hit: If this has the right tone and marketing, I could see this matching the ratings success of New Girl. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: A Moody Christmas Note: Single-camera, put pilot, based on the Australian series A Moody Christmas created by Trent O'Donnell and Phil Lloyd Creator: Trent O'Donnell and Phil Lloyd (co-creators of A Moody Christmas, Review with Myles Barlow, The Elegant Gentleman's Guide to Knife Fighting) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Trent O'Donnell Phil Lloyd Doug Ellin (Emmy nominee, creator of Entourage) Eric Tannenbaum (Emmy Nominee, producer of Center of the Universe, Sit Down Shut Up, Brothers, Notes from the Underbelly, Running Wilde, Rob, We Are Men, Two and a Half Men) Kim Tannenbaum (Emmy Nominee, producer of Center of the Universe, Sit Down Shut Up, Brothers, Notes from the Underbelly, Running Wilde, Rob, We Are Men, Two and a Half Men) Jason Burrows (producer of The Urban Monkey, A Moody Christmas, Problems, The Moodys, The Elegant Gentleman's Guide to Knife Fighting) Cast: TBD About: A young man leaves his family and then comes back to them. Sounds a lot like Arrested Development. Does it Fit the Network: Well if it keeps the “Christmas” title I guess this could be a fun limited series for the holidays on any network. If it doesn't then it was pitched to FOX because it would pair well with Raising Hope. Will it Be Good: The original series was a dramedy so it's interesting to see this be adapted as a pure comedy. It's too early to tell how it will translate to American audiences. Will it Be a Hit: I'm not sure: I guess it could be a hit but I'm not convinced yet. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Mulaney Note: Multi-cam, Six-episode series Order, Inspired by John Mulaney's life Creator: John Mulaney (writer for Saturday Night Live, creator of I Love the 30s and The Oh, Hello Show) Other: Director: Andy Ackerman (director for Seinfeld, New Adventures of Old Christine, Curb Your Enthusiasm) Producers: John Mulaney Andy Ackerman Lorne Michaels (creator of Saturday Night Live, Up All Night, Portlandia, 30 Rock, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon) David Miner (producer of Greetings from Tucson, the Tracy Morgan Show, Carpoolers, Human Giant, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation) Andrew Singer (producer of Sons & Daughters, Portlandia, Up All Night, 30 Rock) Dave Beckey (producer of Mr. Rhodes, The Tracy Morgan Show, Lucky Louie, Human Giant, Everybody Hates Chris, Bored to Death, Louie) Cast: John Mulaney (Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update, Best Week Ever)...John Elliot Gould (Academy Award Nominee, M*A*S*H, The Long Goodbye, Friends, Ocean's Eleven films, E/R)...Alfred Martin Short (Emmy Nominee, SCTV, Saturday Night Live, Three Amigos, Innerspace, Pure Luck, Jungle 2 Jungle, Marts Attacks!, Father of the Bride films, Damages)...Lou Nasim Pedrad (Saturday Night Live)...Jane Seaton Smith (Pancake Mountain)...Motif Zack Pearlman (The Virginity Hit, Community, Key and Peele, The Inbetweeners, Dragons: Riders of the Berk)...Andre About: An aspiring comedian (John Mulaney) coming of age under his boss (Martin Short), his roommates (Nasim Pedrad, Seaton Smith), and neighbors (Elliot Gould. Zach Pearlman). Does it Fit the Network: Will it Be Good: NBC passed on the project but FOX has picked it up straight to series. They reshot the pilot which suggests they might have fixed whatever problems the peacock network had with it. There's a chance this might be a multi-cam series to actually be good that airs on FOX. Will it Be a Hit: Does Mulaney have the fanbase to launch a series? He might have gotten a few comedian legends to appear on his show but it's unknown if this will be big enough to actually launch a series. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Paroled Note: Put Pilot Creator: Andrea Abbate (writer for the Tony Danza Show, Rude Awakening, and Accidentally on Purpose) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Andrea Abbate Becky Clemente (producer of Last Man Standing) Marty Adelstein (producer of Tru Calling, Point Pleasant, Prison Break, Teen Wolf, and Last Man Standing) Shawn Levy (producer of The Famous Jett Jacksons, Pepper Dennis, Last Man Standing) Cast: TBD About: A male “Laverne and Shirley” on parole. Does it Fit the Network: This could fit in the Tuesday night schedule with The Mindy Project, New Girl, or even Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Will it Be Good: I'm not sure yet: it depends on the two leads. Will it Be a Hit: It might depend on the two leads but I'm not convinced a modern-day male Laverne & Shirley is a safe bet. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Torched Note: Single-camera, Put Pilot Creator: Chris Romano (creator of Blue Mountain State, Six Months to Live) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Chris Romano Johnny Depp (Academy Award Nominee, Golden Globe Winner, producer of The Lone Ranger, Dark Shadows, Rum Diary, Hugo) Chris Miller (producer of Clone High, How I Met Your Mother, Cracking Up, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) Phil Lord (producer of Clone High, How I Met Your Mother, Cracking Up, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) Seth Cohen (production manager of Workaholics, Drunk History) Christi Dembrowski (producer of Hugo, The Rum Diary, Dark Shadows) Norman Todd Cast: TBD About: A charismatic dad who tries to provide for his young son through his unique, sometimes law-breaking, job. Does it Fit the Network: This could pair very well with Raising Hope. Will it Be Good: I'm not sure yet-it could be depending on the dad. Will it Be a Hit: I could see this getting similar numbers to Raising Hope. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Untitled Harry Connick Jr. Project Note: Multi-camera, put pilot Creator: Eric Stangel and Justin Stangel (Emmy Winners, Co-Head Writers for The David Letterman Show) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Eric Stangel Justin Stangel Harry Connick Jr. David Letterman (Emmy Winner, producer of The Late Show with David Letterman, The Building, The High Life, Bonnie, The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, Ed, Everybody Loves Raymond, The Knights of Prosperity) Rob Burnett (Emmy Winner, producer of Bonnie, Ed, The Knights of Prosperity, Late Show with David Letterman) Ann Marie Wilkins (producer of Great Performances) Cast: Harry Connick Jr. (Emmy Winner, Great Performances, Will & Grace, Copycat, Hope Floats, Basic, Bug, P.S. I Love You, New in Town, Dolphin Tale) About: A successful entertainer and single dad (Harry Connick Jr.) who takes time off to reconnect with his teenage daughter. Does it Fit the Network: Once again, this would fit well with Raising Hope but since Harry Connick Jr. is somehow qualified to be an American Idol judge, the show might actually air after the former reality giant. Will it Be Good: I need more information before I make a speculation. Will it Be a Hit: This could be good but as Sean Saves the World shows, maybe there isn't a demand for it. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Untitled Jeser & Silverstein Project Note: TBD Creator: Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein (co-creators of Drawn Together, DJ & The Fro) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Dave Jeser Matt Silverstein Cast: TBD About: The past of two troublemaking biracial brothers is about to catch up to them when they are reunited in their hometown. Does it Fit the Network: This could belong with New Girl, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Enlisted or Raising Hope. Will it Be Good: I need more information before I can speculate. Will it Be a Hit: I need more information. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Edited January 26, 2014 by Water Bottle

Community Manager Water Bottle Posted January 13, 2014 Author Community Manager Share Posted January 13, 2014 (edited) Name: Babylon Fields Note: Previously Developed for CBS in 2007 Creator: Gerald Cuesta (writer of L.I.E. and Roadie) and Michael Atkinson (writer of Babylon Fields (2007)) Other: Director: Michael Cuesta (Emmy Nominee, director for Six Feet Under, Dexter, True Blood, and Homeland, directed pilots for Blue Bloods and Elementary, director of L.I.E., Twelve and Holding, Roadie) Producers: Gerarld Cuesta Michael Atkinson Michael Cuesta Cast: TBD About: The dead come back to life and try to resume their old lives. Does it Fit the Network: Babylon Fields could fit with Revolution or it could be NBC's event series of the season. Will it Be Good: You can actually watch the original pilot to get a sense of quality of where this version might or might not end up. Will it Be a Hit: So this pilot has a major problem: ABC's Resurrection. If that's a hit, is there room for two shows about the dead coming back on broadcast networks? If it flops, does that mean there is no demand for a show like this? Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Cleopatra Note: Put Pilot Creator: Michael Seitzman (creator of Intelligence, writer of North Country and Here on Earth) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Michael Seitzman Lorenzo di Bonaventura (producer of Zero Hour, Transformers films, Stardust, Red films) Dan McDermott (producer of Zero Hour, Human Target, Angela's Eyes) Cast: TBD About: An epic romance in a world of myth that follows the love triangle of Cleopatra, Mark Antony, and Julius Caesar. Does it Fit the Network: I wouldn't be surprised if this is paired with Dracula or the upcoming Crossbones. Will it Be Good: There's a chance this could be good-at the very least, it should be crowd-pleasing. Will it Be a Hit: NBC has struggled with launching Dracula, Crusoe, and other similar series so there's little reason to doubt this will be different. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Coercion Note: Based on the Isreali format The Gordin Cell created by Amit Cohen, Ron Leshem, Daniel Syrkin, and Giyora Yahalom, previously developed by Peter Berg Creator: George Nolfi (writer of Timeline, Ocean's Twelve, The Sentinel, The Bourne Ultimatum, The Adjustment Bureau) Other: Director: TBA Producers: George Nolfi Amit Cohen (creator of The Gordin Cell) Avi Nir (Emmy Winner, producer of Homeland, Traffic Light, The Ex List) Giora Yahalom Yona Wiesenthal Cast: TBD About: An Air Force officer has to be recruited by his former Russian spy parents into the world of espionage. Sounds like the sequel to The Americans. Does it Fit the Network: The Blacklist suggests that this series could find a work on the network. Will it Be Good: It has an established writer but I'll wait until casting before speculating. Will it Be a Hit: It can be so difficult to guess with NBC but I think this could get some strong ratings if it's marketed right. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Conception Note: Put Pilot Creator: John Glenn (writer of Drift, Eagle Eye, The Lazarus Project, Identity) and Lars Jacobson (writer of Baby Blues) Other: Director: TBA Producers: John Glenn Lars Jacobson David Janollari (Emmy Nominee, producer of Six Feet Under, Elvis, One on One, Boot Camp, Eve, The Hughleys, The Chronicle) Cast: TBD About: Modern-day immaculate conception on a large scale-a Jesus baby for everyone! Come one, come all, before they run out! Does it Fit the Network: This sounds like a pair to Revolution with me-or the NBC event series of the season. Will it Be Good: It's a bit early to tell but I'm worried about how the premise will actually work as a TV series in the long-run. Will it Be a Hit: It might be assuming that it doesn't draw up controversy in the Christian world-which still makes up the majority of the United States, Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: The Conspiracy Note: Put pilot, based on the found footage feature The Conspiracy (2012) Creator: Christopher MacBride (writer of Conspiracy) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Christopher MacBride Aram Tertzakian (producer of The Raid 2, Frankenstein's Army, The Replacement Child, Errors of the Human Body) Daniel Pipski (senior vice president of production of Milk and Appalossa) Eric Fellner (producer of The Tudors, Love Bites, True Love, Yonderland, The Big Lebowski, Fargo, Love Actually, Shaun of the Dead) Kyle Franke (Assistant to producer, Employee of the Month) Lee Kim (producer of The Conspiracy, Intelligence, Small Town Murder Songs, This Beautiful City) Liza Chasin (producer of Love Actually, Les Miserables, Atonement, Pride & Prejudice) Scott Z. Burns (producer of Side Effects, An Inconvenient Truth, Don't I Know You) Tim Bevan (Academy Award Nominee, Emmy Nominee, Les Miserables, Atonement, Elizabeth, Further Tales of the City, Amristead Maupin's More Tales of the City, The Big Lebowski, Fargo, Love Actually, Shaun of the Dead) Cast: TBD About: A woman works with an FBI agent to investigate the death of her brother after he's killed at an Occupy Wall Street protest. Does it Fit the Network: From the network that brought us The Event? Yes, The Conspiracy fits-even now. Will it Be Good: Was the movie any good? Could it work as a television series? I haven't seen it but I'm concerned about the second question. Will it Be a Hit: I can see it now: an amazing trailer that leads to a nice premiere numbers that the series slowly loses due to the lack of a plan. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Constantine Note: Based on the DC Comics Character John Constantine Creator: David S. Goyer (developed Blade: The Series, created Flashforward and Da Vinci's Demons, writer of Batman Begins, Man of Steel, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises) and Daniel Cerone (Emmy Nominee, writer for Dexter, First Wave, The Mentalist, Charmed) Other: Director: TBA Producers: David S. Goyer Daniel Cerone Cast: TBD About: A reluctant supernatural detective with a con-man past has to save the world from the dark forces from beyond. Does it Fit the Network: A good pair for Grimm next season. Will it Be Good: Goyer can be a good film writer but he's struggled with television: hopefully Cerone can help him craft a pretty special television show. Will it Be a Hit: I think this could be a dependable ratings earner for the network but I doubt it'll be a hit. After all, it's not like the movie was a blockbuster. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Emerald City Note: 10 episode commitment, based on The Wizard of Oz book series by Frank L. Baum Creator: Matthew Arnold (creator of Siberia, Shadow People) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Matthew Arnold Josh Friedman (creator of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) Cast: TBD About: Dorothy is sent on an epic and bloody control of the magical land of Oz. Does it Fit the Network: While it would work better on ABC, Emerald City does fit on NBC with Glee, Dracula, and Revolution. Will it Be Good: The only thing keeping me excited is Friedman's presence because Arnold is still very fresh on the scene-and Siberia wasn't his best first foot forward. Will it Be a Hit: Once Upon a Time in Wonderland might have been the first hint that audiences are tired of these modern-day television adaption crazy that Grimm/Once Upon a Time started. Will this be the second hint-or a new hit that shows that this sub-genre is here to stay? Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: The Mysteries of Laura Note: Cast contingent, based on the Spanish series “Los Mysterios de Laura” created by Carlos Vila and Javier Holgado Creator: Jeff Rake (writer for The Practice, North Shore, Boston Legal, Bones, Cashmere Mafia, Hawthorne, Franklin & Bash, Beauty and the Beast, The Tomorrow People) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Jeff Rake Aaron Kaplan (producer of Terra Nova, GCB, The Inbeetweeners, The Neighbors, Back in the Game, Chasing Life) Greg Berlanti (creator of Everwood and Political Animals, co-creator of Jack & Bobby, Eli Stone, No Ordinary Family, Arrow, The Tomorrow People) Melissa Kellner Berman (producer of Dirty Sexy Money, Eli Stone, No Ordinary Family, Political Animals, Arrow, The Tomorrow People) Cast: TBD About: A female homicide detective who can handle her case load but not her evil twins. Does it Fit the Network: I guess if this pilot depends on broadcast television it's going to be on the slightly experimental NBC. Will it Be Good: First can I say I'm really excited that Kaplan and Berlanti have joined forced on this? Okay, now that that's out of the way I think this has some potential but I'm not sold on the premise yet. Will it Be a Hit: How do you market this? I think if this wants a chance then they need a big name attached. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: The Odyssey Note: TBD Creator: Adam Armus and Kay Foster (Emmy Nominees, writers for Heroes, Night Stalker, Kevin Hill, The Following, Outlaw) with Peter Horton (Emmy Nominee, writer for White Magic and Murder Live!) Other: Director: Peter Horton (Emmy Nominee, director for Grey's Anatony, The Shield, Once and Again, thirtysomething, Dirty Sexy Money, The Philanthropist, Lone Star, Deception, Ironside) Producers: Adam Armus Kay Foster Peter Horton Hernik Bastin (producer of My Generation) Kristen Campo (producer of The Good Guys, The Killing) Mikkel Bondesen (producer of The Good Guys, The Killing, Burn Notice) Simon Maxwell (producer of Off the Hook) Cast: Anna Friel (Golden Globe Nominee, Pushing Daisies, Limitless, Land of the Lost, London Boulevard, Timeline)...Sgt. Odelle Ballard Nate Mooney (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Ed, The Riches, One for the Money, Push, Seraphim Falls, Charlotte's Web)...Bob Offer Jake Robinson (The Carrie Diaries, Smash)...Harrison Wolcott Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, The Bourne Identity, Lost, The Mummy Returns)...TBA About: Three families are torn apart when a stranded female soldier (Anna Friel), a disillusioned corporate attorney, and a disrespected activist are pulled into an international military conspiracy. Does it Fit the Network: NBC has become the network of event series so yes. Will it Be Good: I doubt it. Okay, Peter Horton is pretty good and he might be able to craft a coherent pilot but it's a conspiracy series and the rest of the talent has had some questionable shows under their belt. Will it Be a Hit: It might be at first but I don't see this holding on to ratings. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Outbreak Note: Put Pilot, based on the Wolfgang Peterson feature of the same name Creator: Jack Orman (Emmy Nominee, creator of Pan Am, writer of ER) and John Wells (Emmy Winner, co-creator of Third Watch, former showrunner of ER and The West Wing, Shameless producer) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Jack Orman John Wells Andrew Stearn (producer of Third Watch, The Evidence, The West Wing, Smith, Southland, Shameless) Cast: TBD About: An ensemble of characters try to stop a global outbreak of a lethal disease. Does it Fit the Network: Yes, this could fit with Revolution. Will it Be Good: I think this could actually be good: Jack Orman and John Wells are pretty great writers. The more tangible premise could last a while without getting out of control. Will it Be a Hit: I could see this getting a lot of hype and buzz beforehand that leads to a big premiere. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Salvation Note: TBD Creator: Liz Heldens (creator of Mercy, Deception) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Liz Heldens David Janollari (Emmy Nominee, producer of Six Feet Under, Elvis, One on One, Boot Camp, Eve, The Hughleys, The Chronicle) Cast: TBD About: The family that runs a Texas mega church that follows their faith and...corruption. Does it Fit the Network: As Deception should have proved, primetime soaps don't really belong on NBC-no matter how much the network would like for it to be true. Will it Be Good: Mercy and Deception weren't very good shows but who knows? Third time might be the charm for Liz Heldens...but probably not. Will it Be a Hit: You know whose not going to like this? Christian America. This is alienating a huge portion of the country that will limit it's ability to be a hit. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: The Slap Note: Eight episode commitment, based on the Australian series of the same itself based on a book by Christos Tsiolkas Creator: Jon Robin Baitz (Creator of Brothers & Sisters) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Jon Robin Baitz Laurie MacDonald (producer of Men in Black: The Series, Gladiator, Catch Me If You Can, Men in Black films, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street) Ted Gold (producer of Three Rivers) Tony Ayres (producer of Bogan Pride,The Slap, The Straits, Next Step Hollywood, Anatomy, Nowhere Boys) Walter Parkes (producer of Men in Black: The Series, Gladiator, Catch Me If You Can, Men in Black films, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street) Cast: TBD About: A small domestic dispute pulls a family apart and challenges core American values. Does it Fit the Network: I'm not entirely sure if it does (this seems more like an ABC show to me). Will it Be Good: Brothers & Sisters was a pretty engaging family soap and the original was met to a lot of acclaim...there's a chance this might be good in translation. Will it Be a Hit: I'm not sure if American audiences will be interested in this show to the point where it might outright flop. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Paradise Note: Put Pilot Creator: Seth Grahame-Smith (creator of The Hard Times of RJ Berger, writer of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Dark Shadows) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Seth Grahame-Smith David Katzenberg (producer of The Hard Times of RJ Berger, The Contender, Survivor, Ben and Kate) Greg Berlanti (creator of Everwood and Political Animals, co-creator of Jack & Bobby, Eli Stone, No Ordinary Family, Arrow, The Tomorrow People) Melissa Kellner-Berman (producer of Dirty Sexy Money, Eli Stone, No Ordinary Family, Political Animals, Arrow, The Tomorrow People) Cast: TBD About: In the late 21st century, Las Vegas has of course been turned into a maximum security prison known as Paradise. Does it Fit the Network: I could see this series set in the near future being paired with Revolution or with Grimm. Will it Be Good: Seth Grahame-Smith has yet to really impress me but Berlanti and Berman are solid producers. This has potential. Will it Be a Hit: I think that this might struggle to find an audience for itself but it'll likely be a cult hit. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: State of Affairs Note: TBD Creator: Joe Carnahan (writer for The Blacklist, writer of The Grey, The A-Team, Smokin' Aces, Narc) Other: Director: TBA Producers: Joe Carnahan Alexi Hawley (producer of Body of Proof, Castle) Bob Simonds (producer of Problem Child, Big Daddy, Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, This Means War) Julia Franz (producer of Men at Work, Made in Jersey) Sophie Watts (producer of Sarah Palin: You Betcha!, Dynamo's Concrete Playground) Henry Crumpton Rodney Faraon Nancy Heigl (producer of One for the Money, Life as We Know It, The Ugly Truth) Katherine Heigl (Golden Globe Nominee, Emmy Winner, producer of Side Effects, The Ugly Truth, Life as We Know It, One for the Money) Cast: Katherine Heigl (Golden Globe Nominee, Emmy Winner, Grey's Anatomy, Roswell, Knocked Up, The Ugly Truth, Life as We Know It, Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, 27 Dresses, Killers, New Year's Eve) About: A CIA attache (Katherine Heigl) who briefs the President on key crises while balancing her complicated personal life. Does it Fit the Network: I think this could be NBC's version of Scandal and it could be paired with The Blacklist. Will it Be Good: It comes from a decent writer but the number of producers does concern me: still it's great to have producers who have actually briefed the President on these national security issues. There's hope here...but a lot of room for concern. Will it Be a Hit: Katherine Heigl is a big television star and it has a premise that could generate a lot of buzz. This has potential to be a hit. Chance of It Getting Picked Up: Name: Tin Man Note: TBD Creator: Ehren Kruger (writer of Transformers film series, The Ring series, Scream 3, Arlington Road) Other: Director: D.J. Caruso (director of Disturbia, I Am Number Four, Eagle Eye, Taking Lives, director for The Shield) Producers: Ehren Kruger D.J. Caruso Daniel Bobker (producer of The Brothers Grimm, The Skeleton Key, Dream House) John Glenn (producer of Hatfields & McCoys) Cast: Patrick Heusinger (Gossip Girl, Royal Pains, Submissions Only, Revolution)...Adam Shaun Toub (Crash, The Kite Runner, Homeland, Iron Man films, The Last Airbender, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, The Bold and the Beautiful, Smith, Luck)...David Dashiell Kathleen York (Academy Award Nominee, Crash, Seven Pounds, Sublime, Naomi & Wyonna: Love Can Build a Bridge, The Client List, The West Wing, Desperate Housewives, The O.C., Vengeance Unlimited, Murder One, Aaron's Way, Dallas)...Wendy Kristen Connolly (The Cabin in the Woods, The Happening, Revolutionary Road, The Bay, House of Cards, As the World Turns, Guiding Light)...Katie Piper Kara Killmer (Scary Tales)...Athena True About: A robot (Patrick Heusinger) is accused of first degree murder and goes on the run may hold the key to human evolution and the human female public defender (Kristen Connolly) forced to fight for his cause. Does it Fit the Network: Yes. Same reason as other event-like series. Will it Be Good: Ehren can write crowd-pleasing fair so at the very least it should be a fun watch. Will it Be a Hit: It'll probably launch to similar numbers of Almost Human but it'll depend on the writing if they fall or remain steady. I doubt it could do better than that at this point. Community Manager Water Bottle Posted January 13, 2014 Author Community Manager Share Posted January 13, 2014 It's taking me a little longer than expected to do all the networks but I should hopefully have all the networks up by the end of the week and then start doing weekly/daily upgrades. Anyways, FOX is trying to "kill" pilot season but that should be easier said than done. I'll be surprised if they don't participate this season and I'll do my best to track those pilots that happen during the season.
