Dawn of the Planet of the Apes OS (500 mil OS!!)

IMHO, the target is already 450. South Korea has increased from 4.7 to 11.4, Australia has increased about a 30%, and India, Thailand and Malaysia have already (nearly) matched the total grosses of first part.

Yes, 450 or even 500 is doable if China breakouts. I meant 400 was the target pre-release. Now seems near locked. We'll see how far it can goes.

The 400-500m territory is for OS markets what the 90-100m opening weekend is for domestic. TASM 2, CAP 2, X-DOPF, Maleficent and now Apes - all are in the same ballpark: big BO hits, but not giants like TF4 or the last Hobbit. A bit monotonous.

Apes didn't have a 90-100m opening, but they will all end up in the 200-260m dom range.

A few years ago barely anyone predicted X-men, Cap and PotA would be making around 700 m.It's kind of a big deal for these franchises.

I know. I was just saying that regarding box office 2014, most movie hits fall in this particular territory. Kinda makes you wonder whether the next instalments of each of these franchises will be as close BO wise.
