Spectre remains bad. Not even the Mighty Deakins could've saved that one.

I like some of the ideas in it, but it is such a slog. I didn't even finish it on rewatch (I swear, it has the most boring car chase scene ever). Such a shame that they wasted Christoph Waltz too.

God, that car chase. It drags on and on with zero tension and some lame jokes.

When does this start filming? Is Malek gonna be in it or not?

It starts filming on April 6. It was supposed to be earlier this month, but they pushed it back (and the release date) for Burns's rewrites.

First question April 6th

Second question:No one knows. I suspect money in involved;Malek's asking price skyrocketed since his Oscar win.

The last two Bonds got Oscar winners for their villains so I imagine they will pony up to get Malek

Also, being the lead of a film that made close to $900m, when it had probably made less than half of that when negotiations must have first started

Saw a stat on Reddit saying Daniel Craig will be the first Bond to appear in movies in 3 different decades (not counting the unofficial return of Connery). His first movie was 2006 and last one will be 2020 but only 5 movies total. The 2010s were also the decade with the least number of Bond movies with just 2 released through the decade.

But the other two Bond Oscar actors won their Oscars quite a while before, and were not coming off an Oscar win just a few weeks before. Malik is much hotter then the other two were, and his asking price is going to be a lot more.

The Daniel Craig Bond era sure has been uneven. Casino Royale and Skyfall are among the best (if not the best) movies in the entire series. Quantum of Solace and Spectre...eh, not so much. So I'd say there's a chance of this being one of the greats with that track record.
