Ten to one it was some stupid accident on a routine scene ...not a big action stunt...which Craig would not be allowed to do for fear this would happen and cost a lot of money in delays. In the film industry, time quite literary is money.

And everytime you read about a star being allowed to do his won stunts,99% chance it's just publicity B.S. Too much is at stake to allow the star to risk injury if there any way of avoding it..and almost always there is.

And, yes, I take all the stories about Tom Cruise doing his own stunts on the MI movies with a ton of salt.

Update:A story says he slipped while running. Like I predicted it was something perfectly routine.

Most injuries happen on the routine stuff. The stuff you know is dangerous they take a lot of safety precuations for and everybody is much more alert, For the routine stuff they get careless.

I feel bad for him, breaking the ankle.

I also hope that this doesn't affect shooting too much and that Craig gets to end his time on a film that's at least repeatedly watchable (the same cannot be said for his predecessor).

New and awesome interview with Waller Bridge:
https://deadline.com/2019/05/phoebe-waller-bridge-bond-1202624860/

“There’s been a lot of talk about whether or not [the Bond franchise] is relevant now because of who he is and the way he treats women,” she said. “I think that’s bollocks. I think he’s absolutely relevant now. It has just got to grow. It has just got to evolve, and the important thing is that the film treats the women properly. He doesn’t have to. He needs to be true to this character.”
“When I saw his Bond for the first time, there was a wryness to his performance that I really loved,” she said. “So, I was really excited about writing dialogue for him. I mean, the script was there. It’s already there. I think it’s unfair to say that I’m writing the script.”

Plot is apparently about genetic engineering and warfare...

If this person really believes what they're saying, that it's fine if Bond doesn't treat women well but the films themselves should treat them well...then why is this even an issue? They've been treating the female characters pretty damn well since Casino Royale, a movie featuring maybe the best Bond girl ever in Vesper. And the Craig movies have given us the best Moneypenny BY FAR.

You can complain about the Russian girl in Quantum of Solace if you want, but that entire movie was underwritten, so it's not exclusive to her.

I thought complaints weren't about Kurylenko in QoS (last I noticed she was liked for being a tough heroine who wasn't there to jump into bed with Bond) but about Berenice Marlohe in Skyfall. Who was there to look pretty, reveal a molesting backstory, get walked in on in the shower by Bond, and get killed.

Anyway, that quote puts it exactly right and even if we all know it it doesn't hurt to reiterate it again.

Have to be careful; that might be a bit too far out for a 007 film. Sce Fi elements have been a part of the franchsie since Dr No,but you have to handle them carefully. Go too far out you get a fiasco like "Die Another Day". Invisible cars was a crappy idea for a Bond movie.

They probably will start shooting stuff that does not involve 007, but you can only go so far with that. No doubt, this is going to add to the final cost of the film. Delays always do,

Also that Bond stands there while she's shot in the head - makes a horrific quip about waste of good scotch - then saves himself as if the gun to head is nothing.

We also get Dench's M killed (due to the incompetence of Bond) and Moneypenny goes to the office - not as an agent but a secretary b/c she can't cut it in the field.  But all is well at the end with everyone where they belong, a man as M in the office, Moneypenny at her secretaries desk while we get some triumphant Bond music.  Skyfall as a movie is terrible to women.

Serioulsy, this film seems to be having more then it's share of bad luck.

ANd I suspect whoever is in charge of safety on the set is going to be called in for a talk with Brocolli and Wilson.....and it won't be fun.

Blame Craig's karma. He basically shit all over the role and said he'd never do it again, only to redact that with a big enough number waved in his face. The universe is making sure filming this is hell for him (and unfortunately the rest of the crew has to suffer).

Daniel is trash. Let's not forget his "women who get plastic surgery end up looking like someone's old lesbian sister" comment.

Glad to see karma coming round to get him.

A crewmember sustained a minor injury? Oh god how will they carry on. Boy that karma sure is coming back to bite Daniel Craig in the ass.

People are still butthurt about that off-the-cuff remark he made the day after the film wrapped?

I can take or leave Craig's Bond at this point, but every actor has complained at some point about the ridiculous work commitment the role demands.

Craig has been whining for years about the role and has more or less admitted he’s only in it for the money. If he’s getting paid ten of millions, the least he can do is commit to the craft. Otherwise find someone else who would surely put their heart and soul into it for a fraction of the money.

an actor doing their job for money?

Heresy.

I hear that Robert Downey Jr only plays Iron Man because of his kind heart and love for the comics. I heard he actually tried to refuse the paycheque from Disney as he only wanted $1 million, but Bob Iger just insisted he take the full $50! Now that's a true actor.

So? I don't get why people give a shit about this. He commits to the role onscreen and gives a good performance as Bond. I like when celebrities give little glimmers of honesty.
