It’s simple really, higher ticket prices means higher potential takings after so many delays and costly marketing false starts. They’re squeezing it for every penny they can make, I’m amazed they didn’t try pushing 3D in the UK, it’s only in 2D here, although every cinema raised their ticket prices for the film, so we’re basically paying the 3D uplift already…

I can’t imagine any part of this film benefitting from 3D though.

They can't afford half empty screens with 3D this weekend is what I'm imagining.

Nobody who has seen this has said anything about the opening title sequence.  Inquiring minds would like to know to know where it ranks among the Craig films.

Not my favourite... Casino Royale, Skyfall and Spectre were all more memorable/striking. Although having rewatched OHMSS yesterday I appreciate some of the callbacks these titles make (Britannia in particular)

I've heard there's also a lot of dots referencing Dr. No

I thought it was kinda trippy.

I was not impressed. There's some nice callbacks like others have said but overall it felt like an algorithm generated Bond opening. Nothing distinct or memorable about it.

Since “Venom” overpeeformed and pulled 90 million $ in the US, I wonder can Bond also open closer to that number? I’m still keeping my predictions to 70-5 million $ though.

Previews point to 7M+. Spectre did 5.25m and then onto 70M opening weekend. Cant expect a 13+ multiplier this time (maybe 10 to 12) so 70 to 85 seems like a fair range at this stage. Its going to be a walk up film and also have better legs than a film like Venom.

Most of the action which take place in the last few days leading up to previews.

A $70 million to $85 million OW sounds like a reasonable prediction. Hopefully the legs are good too, though I'm not too worried about that given that Bond films are usually pretty leggy anyway (Quantum of Solace being the major exception)

One thing really nagging at me, would that fantastic UK opening have been possible with distancing still in place...

On the one hand, fantastic for the business. On the other, uhh...guess we'll see in two weeks? While measures were still in place I'm def buying the "zero cases traced to a cinema" stat but now...this will be an actual test (remember that as far as cinemas are concerned it's no masks and no distancing in most places, zero chance of vaccine passports here, and seems Europe has caught up with us on vax %s)

I was too amazed by the events during the pre-credits to properly concentrate! Will watch them a little more closely when I see it again in the coming days. They were pretty cool I think.

I watched "Casino Royale" for the first time last night. What a great Bond movie it is! I have to say that after "Die Another Day" I had zero interest in seeing a new Bond film, so "Skyfall" marked my return to theaters to see a Craig's Bond. I really disliked "Spectre", and can't even point a finger to what irritated me so much, but I left the theater underwhelmed.

I would say that if NTTD really exceeds expectations, it's going to end up making 95 million $ in the US. But everything above 100 million $ is still a little too much. I expect it to be #1 for 2 weeks, since I am predicting "Halloween Kills" to gross anywhere between 25 and 35 million $.

seeing this tomorrow and since i finished my bond marathon on friday i watched the 60s Casino Royale to tide me over. hahahahaha legit contender for the worst film i've ever seen what the fuck.

It's a complete mess and quite bad but I can't help but enjoy the chaos and maximalist 60s style of it all ha. The only thing it has going for it is truly stunning sets and production design, movie looks insane visually.
