why do you hate this movie so much.👀

Probably because it not a CBM  and an "Old People's Movie".

Not surprised BOnd fans are arguing over this movies. 007 fans are different then most franchise fans. they love to fight amng themselves and, unlike many franchise fans, readily admit there are some weak/bad films in the franchise.

The film that seems so divide the hard core Bond fans the most is "LIcence To Kill". Some love it, others hate it and think the attempts to make Bond into a Ahnuld/Stallione type 80's action hero is a failure. Me, I don't think it quite at the bottom of the Bond barrel, but think it's one of the weaker films. It just does not seem like a BOnd film much of the time.

One of the things about No Time TO Die that is getting pretty much universal praise is the humor in the film. Looks as if bringing in  Phoebe Waller-Bridge of Fleabag fame was a smart move. Rumor has it Craig is who pushed for bringing her on the script.

How is NTTD doing compared to Skyfall and Spectre on individual international markets over the opening weekend? I’m trying to figure if this can make 600 million $ outside the US.

In like-for-like markets and at current exchange rates, the No Time To Die number is in line with Skyfall and 17% below Spectre excluding previews, advises Universal on background.”

Seeing as Skyfall did over $800 million international, and Spectre did $680 million I’d say it’s got a decent shot at hitting the $600 million mark. Although there are a few major territories still locked down - Australia for one who are easily in for $25 million on this.

We’ll know a bit more after seeing the second weekend results.

Being in the US I have not seen it yet, but did read some of the reviews, and after learning about the villian's big plot, I think we have anew understanding of why NTTD was the first major film to be put back because of COvid.

IMAX presales around me for the second weekend look almost as busy as the first weekend. The UK is going to have a very strong hold.

Looking very good around me as well. The multitude of 2D shows are doing very well too. Saturday could match last Sunday at least

I would expect slightly smaller impact in France next week, due to their theatre capacity. So I’d say 7-8 million $. I’d predict the same number for Russia.

Overall second weekend drop for the other teritories should be less than 50%. So I guess anywhere from 70-80 million $ should be a lock, with a 240-250 million $ total + the US debut.

50% drop in Europe wont happen for sure. They are among leggiest markets(minus Japan). I would say sub 30% drop in Europe though Asia will drop harder. But its BO was mainly Europe and so overall drop will be great.

Without spoilers, how many of Craig's do you need to have seen to understand what's going on? Do I need to finally watch Quantum?

i think probably Casino and SPECTRE are the only must watches to fully get it. I don't remember any references to Quantum in it.

I know Jeffrey Wrights character originally came from Quantum which is why I asked. Guess I need to watch Spectre again and not fall asleep like last time

Wright was in Casino Royale too but all there really is to know about that character is that he's an American agent who works with Bond sometimes.

Oh shit that was him in the first one, totally forgot. Gotta rewatch that too then. Between this and that Batman podcast and What if it's a lot of Jeffrey Wright this week

well worth watching Quantum straight after Casino. You might find it’s way better than most remember it.

spectre is the one you really need to see to get everything, but i guess you could just read a brief summary on the internet.

a love interest from casino is kinda a central point for the first 25 minutes, but i don’t think she’s ever mentioned again after that. you just need to know she was very important to bond if your time is short (and cant rewatch these things).

i would see the two good ones (skyfall and casino) if i got the chance, for the emotional baggage. NTTD feels more emotionally satisfying this way.
