I like it. Its a standard Bond trailer. Looks like they are trying to fix things and make Spectre look better.

that's kinda the problem for me. i would've preferred if they just dropped the thread but this looks like they're working a bit too much to salvage it. i guess i knew lea seydoux and waltz were gonna be in it but i didn't expect them to get that much emphasis in the trailer. malek coming in feels like a totally unrelated afterthought.

To be clear, I don't think it looks like a bad film, but they could have stood to cut down on introducing 3 plots here between Rami, Bond's reintegration to MI6, and whatever's going on with Madeline for a first impression.

Malek is barely in the trailer though (unfortunately).

Spectre put them in a pretty big hole. Going into retirement means you gotta bring at least Seydoux back at least briefly to justify a return to service but then you know it's already Craig's last outing. So killing em' all off in some kind of For Your Eyes Only/OHMSS kind of way only to have a solo adventure would probably feel clunky as well.

They locked themselves into this position by connecting all the Craig films in Spectre. They can't really diverge now that this is supposedly his final Bond film for real this time. Malek doesn't have the same hype as Waltz does in the Spectre trailer but hopefully his character ends up being better.

Oof. I  get that they want Bond to be faithful to one woman and no more a womanizer. But why the one he has ZERO chemsitry with? That was one of main complaints about Spectre. Madelaine is boring and she and Bond don't have the spark. yet she's so much in the movie, more than Ana (I counded number of scenes they appear in). It also looks like a rip-off of MI where the wife is sent to a witness protection program (except that Ethan Hunt thought she was dead while Bond knows that Madelaine is taken to MI6 protection).

Waltz is annoying and apaprently more in the movie than Rami. WTF? Why is this a direct sequel to the worst of craig Bonds?

That said, Craig owns, Ana is stunning, Lashana looks great especially with long hair, and action is neat.

For all we know, that could be Waltz’s only scene. I highly doubt that Blofeld will be the main villain in this, they’re just keeping a sense of mystery around Rami Malek’s character by not showing him too much, they basically did the same thing with Waltz in the Spectre trailers.

I would anticipate Waltz is in it for maybe a scene, and that’s it. Setting up a greater game as SPECTRE is everywhere.

I think they’re holding back on Malek and he’s the main villain. Right now they’ll just want the mainstream to go “oh shit, is that the guy that played Freddie Mercury?!” and no more than that. More will be unveiled as we get closer to April.

OK, that makes sense. They probably want Blofeld for more movies.  also @wildphantom

Unpopular opinion: BW trailer way better than this one.

Count me in as someone who hates the creeping serialization of these Bond movies. It feels wrong and it's perhaps not a coincidence that of the four films Craig's done the most well-liked were the two that didn't feel compelled to reference previous instalments.

It's made it difficult to course correct, forced them to keep some character dead weight and weighed Bond down with far to much emotional baggage.  It's taken a lot of the spontaneity and joy out of the series.

Just watched it again - it’s pretty damn good!
Colour me way more excited for this movie than BW

Me too. That said they should have recast bond with this despite me really liking Casino Royale and Skyfall. This will go down for sure from Spectre. But will still be profitable considering how big Bond is in OS markets.
