Count me in as someone who hates the creeping serialization of these Bond movies. It feels wrong and it's perhaps not a coincidence that of the four films Craig's done the most well-liked were the two that didn't feel compelled to reference previous instalments.

I haven't watched a lot of Bond movies but it seems to be the same problem as the Cumberbatch Sherlock show which was one of the worst iterations of Sherlock Holmes because it was serialised and everything had to connect back to Moriarty and almost no episode worked as a standalone episode.

I guess I would say serialization for an actor's run as Bond was a worthy experiment to take. But since they've completely botched Craig's run in the process, it looks like an overall drag as opposed to a boon for him. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's more of a Broccoli problem than a problem with the concept itself.

I imagine they'll go back to more standalone stuff with the next one.

the mission impossible movies are also becoming more serialized but that's working for them so it's not an inherently bad idea. it's just that here all roads lead to spectre a bloated corpse of a movie. i don't think exploring his psyche has worked because he's always been a thin character and trying to dive deep into him just reveals that even more.

when the next actor reverts the character back to quippy goofy brosnan/moore mode do you think young fans who are only especially familiar with craig's more brooding take will complain about Bond being "marvelized"?

is this really the last Bond for Craig? if so I'm afraid it's likely going to end

  Reveal hidden contents

You need to calm down.

Lea Seydoux will be the new 007 at the end, no biggie.

Sure b/c audiences have short memories.

Like forgetting about Connery quipping in the increasingly goofy Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever.
