No Time To Die | October 8 2021 | Delayed again | RIP Sean Connery

Recommended Posts

It's all a question of how much do they need the cashflow from NTTD and how soon, given the film's already been through 3 release date changes now.

To be fair, a marketing campaign was never attached to two of those previously announced release dates. But you bring up a good point about cash flow. I have to imagine that everyone involved (including MGM’s debt holders) see the logic and necessity in delaying NTTD theatrical release. There’s not really any good options, even with paid digital downloads, that can replace theater revenue. Assuming that advertising costs for the biggest films would stay the same for VOD, it’s cheaper than ever for studios to release films theatrically.

And Dr Fauci pretty much told us this morning that a second Corona virus wave in the fall is almost certainly  going to happen.

And they will waste NO time in closing down theaters again.

Perfect date.

Just when the second wave strikes.

Harder than the first.

This needs to move up to be the first big spy action film of the year because Black Widow is now coming out on November 6th.

“It's the big screen or nothing for Bond. The picture certainly won't be launched on a computer screen or an iPhone. 'If it has to wait till next year then so be it,' I was told by a close source. 'There are hundreds of millions of dollars involved here. Release it when audiences feel safe to return. But it's a nerve-racking call.'

Meanwhile I'm hearing good things (as you would, I guess) from the tiny number of people lucky enough to have been allowed to see it.”

I won't be the only person to be slightly put out if it gets delayed again, I suppose, but it'd be understandable if it did.

Warning! Some UK newspapers are posting a major plot spoiler today all over twitter (they're calling it a rumour but I'm guessing it's true). Pricks.

Yeah it's a legit spoiler - the call sheets they came from (which I've seen) are legit I believe

Sadly, this is the least scummy thing they've done in the past 20 years (Piers Morgan and the Mirror publishing faked pictures of soldiers torturing civilians, the phone-hacking debacle, The Sun's continued existence, etc.).

Looks like the WB moves set off a chain reaction. Disney will probably move Soul back a few days to Thanksgiving weekend by Monday.
