Never ever in my wildest dream , I would ever think to see a Marvel film sits on the throne of Highest Grossing films of all time. But yet here we are....

Once a king of the franchises has now evolved into something more... The king of all kind of movies...

I'm so proud for this 'once in a lifetime' events called MCU and also grateful to be able to witness it right in time. Lastly , I'm gonna say thank you especially to all the greatest Fans in the world and all people who has taken their parts to made this universe happens ( even the haters who saw it etc ).

As Kevin Feige himself said.

"Here we are for the past 10 years and for 10 years to come."

We won this decade, but things are only just beginning. People thinking Endgame would be followed by a decline in interest are gonna be in for a rude awakening :)

Question is, what are they going to do to top Endgame?

Sure, they have the X-Men available for the MCU now which can result in some awesome team-ups. But after the stakes of Infinity War and Endgame (not to mention that IW cliffhanger), any other stakes aren't going to be near as impressive. Unless we get a villain who wants to delete the universe and the power is needed from other universes to get it back.

Thread:

I got mocked, ridiculed, bullied and attacked online like literally never happened to me just for sharing @Charlie Jatinder numbers and believing that Endgame would end up becoming the highest grossing film of all time.

It's Saturday and EVERY FUCKING THING is going my way, and the night has just started. Marvel Studios SDCC panel was golden and Iam happy not only that a film that I love so much is getting the accolades it deserves, but most of all that I am part of a box office online community since 2012 that taught me literally everything I know about box office.

@baumer, you are a fucking inspiration. I know that we've our differences in the past and that I acted like a legit fucking asshole, but I do owe you a lot of what I know of box office, and while I still don't know SHIT, outside this place most of us that follow this community are fucking kings when it comes to projecting box office numbers and seeing a box office trend before hand. @DeadArachnid!™  you might never see this, but I miss you and I hope that you are happy, healthy and livingi well wherever you are. @Plain Old Tele, I love you man. You are someone that I learned to love throughout the years and I am continuously amazed at your POV in life and I try always to integrate that to my day to day life. @CJohn Portugal you fucking lunatic, you are fucking nuts and I love you for that. @AndyLL you are the fucking best, I barely see you around, but I can't wait for how insane it will be once Rise of the Skywalker arrives. @grim22, I see a LOT of myself in you. As a fellow DC fan, I get that all we want is good DC films, and I'm happy and excited for everything coming our way in the years to come.

@Shawn, my dude, my favorite box office analyst, the very FIRST Asgardian, even before the box office gods that walk among us today: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS PLACE. THANK YOU FOR THIS COMMUNITY. THANK YOU for all single admin and moderator that made this a healthy and cool place to discuss film and box office.  Thank you for being the fucking SINGLE box office analyst in all the fucking internet to call on that THR report that this was bound to happen. You are the best among all the box office analysts, and acknowledgement of that will only grow stronger.

Thank you to our Asgardian, @Rthhome, @Charlie Jatinder and @EmpireCity for all your hard work and knowledge throughout the years. Thank you too to both @Gavin Feng, @Olive, @Fullbuster and all the people at the international threads to keep us always updated and giving us their insight.

Thank you ALL for this community that we have. Thank you to the friends I made here and other places because of box office and film discussion. Thank you @redfirebird2008, @druv10, @TalismanRing, @Menor, @Durden, @terrestrial, @narniadis, @Sam, @a2k, @Mekanos, @keysersoze123, @Captain Craig, @ecstasy, @Cochofles (Miss ya), @XO21, @ZeeSoh, @cax16 , @nguyenkhoi282 @aabattery and the people that I am forgetting on this wall of text post.

Thanks also to my new buddies that jumped from Era to here to talk about box office: @Alexandros, @Heroicpiglet, @Hemo memo, @kswiston and probably others that I'm missing.

Thanks also to @JamesCameronScholar and Big Jimbo, for being actually cooler heads than people have always given them credit for here on BOT. There is a lot of people that behave nastily worse than them and as a Cameron fan myself, they do represent me.

Box office history is being made today, ladies and lads. Now where is my gold account, @Water Bottle? Buying it right now.

When I read the first part of your post I was wondering "What kind of attack will I get?" but hey glad it wasn't that ^^

You're welcome, the Brazilian BO thread is a pleasure to manage, we have so much fun ^^ Yeah, it's been created 7 years ago but not ready to give up on it yet 😛

I'll be honest: I'm glad I stopped watching comicbook movies after Infinity War, people who've known me for a long time here know I love these movies but we reached a point where it's just too much, after 10 years+ I think a break is really welcome.

I will probably play catch up in a few years when I'm finally hyped again, my interest in these movies is still there, I didn't "outgrow" them but it's like great food: no matter how good it is you will be disgusted if you eat too much of it. Marvel and DC (particularly Marvel) just went too far even for a fan like me.

Well that just means you weren’t as big a fan you think you were. For me it’s just a beginning and I loved cbms since X-men and first Spidey

No I didn't. Not that I'm not interested but I really liked the idea of the MCU ending that way with such a daring final with Thanos doing you know what, it was so incredible that I strongly felt it was the perfect moment to do a long break to reignite my hype because I was starting to feel bored due to the feeling it is endless, the best stories have an end and the MCU is gonna last for at least 10 years, probably more.

I love video games more than anything but I felt the same thing for them back in early 2012 so I stopped gaming after 2 amazing games: Zelda Skyward Sword and Xenoblade Chronicles (particularly that one). Following this fatigue I stoppedp layng until summer 2016, 4 years and half of break but then when I started playing again and playing catch up I was fired up as ever before..Believe me, long breaks are perfect to reignite the flame :D

Again, given you didn't read: it's like food: even the best food is offputting is you eat too much of it and on a daily basis, the taste is no longer the same.

Maybe you like this but many people need diversity and a break before coming back.

I love videogames more than the huge majority of people on Earth but even me would be bored playing several Pokemon or Zelda games each year despite me loving them, which is why I try other genres and new concepts, a break between these games.

I personally prefer the WDAS way of doing things: 1 or 2 movies a year, or sometimes every 2 years, it makes these movies more appealing.

Well watch it, and take the break from rest, atleast end it the way it should be.

I can definitely eat my favourite food three times a year, I actually do it more often. So yeah, different people - different tastes. You take your break and I (with hundreds of million people) will gladly gobble mcu’s fastfood up

btw speaking of games - since 2015 (I think) I played only one and that’s factorio - currently on hold due to newborn but I am excited to get back at it)

Don't act like I insulted your mom, we're not children and that's entertainment.

I'm not motivated but I'll think about it. Besides Spider-Man Far From Home is apparently the true end of the current phase so... 😕

Uhm, I’m not. Sorry if it sounded like that. I just felt compelled to tell other side of the story. You claiming you are some great fan and then not even watching endgame felt “wrong”

Well, "You're not a real fan, I AM" is not exactly the most mature thing to say so maybe it wasn't worded well. I hope you realize it was just about me? I wasn't saying "The MCU is gonna decline, look at us we're getting bored!", the superhero fatigue theory started in 2012  and it's been mocked for years so I wouldn't do that. Besides, I'll be back, it's just a break, it's not like I gave up on Marvel / DC (yes, it's a full break from the genre, not just Marvel).

Even fans can feel the need of a break, it's ok.

Break is happening Fullbuster. Just look at the schedule we are getting more new movies rather than sequels also the different cast which is very diverse brings a breath of fresh air... If you like hand to hand combat action Black Widow might be up your alley?  I'm hearing great things about its action sequence

@Fullbuster

Watch a lot of truly terrible movies then you'll swing the pendulum in the other direction enough that you'll come back.
