Who else has been listening to Alan Silvestri's score, specifically Track 28? 😉

I thought the score was just okay, besides the obvious standouts like Portals and some musical cues.

This is better than Endgame. And dethroned Iron Man as my 2nd favorite MCU film.

Gotta be honest, not sure I can really understand that kind of love for Iron Man at this point. The movie seems very archaic and generic in many ways in terms of where we've come in the genre since. Of course, it will always be elevated by that incredible RDJ performance, but I think the film itself is lower tier MCU at this point.

I will say that there were a few moments that almost reminded me of classic-Zemeckis-era Silvestri. Only a couple. Much as I like the Cap and Avengers themes, I do wish his modern scores felt a little closer to his older stuff. (I LOVE the Back to the Future scores.)

Having had time to digest, I have come to the conclusion that Engame was pretty terrific, right up there with Wonder Woman for me as the top CBMs.

The Back to the Future scores are great but tonally stuff like that would feel completely ridiculous in movies like Infinity War and Endgame. I do feel like Silvestri upped his game for these two compared to Captain America 1 and Avengers (both of which I liked).

True, true. I just meant that the scores don’t feel like what I always associated with “Alan Silvestri.” But that doesn’t mean I don’t like them.

i watched iron man 1 this weekend and it’s almost cute how small-scale it is compared to what comes after. the third act is pretty lame....rdj really carries this movie on his back and hauls it up that hill

1. Infinity War

2. Iron Man

3. The Winter Soldier

...

10. Endgame

The opening weekend might be the biggest OW record of all time! The film broke record in just 2 days with previews. The last time such thing happened was in 1989 with Tim Burton's Batman!

I guess since we can't discuss spoilers in this topic we're ranking again.

The MCU quiz is very handy since I find ranking pretty nebulous.

It changes with re-watches and moods but as of now

First 12:  A+  to A-

Next 10: B+ to D (only D is TDW)

  1. Avengers: Endgame
  2. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
  3. Avengers: Infinity War
  4. Captain America: Civil War
  5. Iron Man
  6. Captain America: The First Avenger
  7. Iron Man 3
  8. Avengers: Age of Ultron
  9. The Avengers
  10. Thor: Ragnarok
  11. Spider-Man: Homecoming
  12. Black Panther
  13. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
  14. Ant-Man
  15. Thor

  18. Guardians of the Galaxy
  19. Ant-Man and the Wasp
  20. Iron Man 2
  21. The Incredible Hulk
  22. Thor: The Dark World

Oh God, I am giggling. My friend sent me this yesterday and I got stuck in like a time loop for ten minutes and never finished. :rofl:How long did it take you?

Fuck You Forever:

22. Avengers: Age of Ultron

@MovieMan89

I don’t know if you are just trolling for notes or what with that Iron Man comment. The movie 💯 holds up. More importantly, we would be here without it. Hulk flopped. Just because you don’t like it, doesn’t mean it isn’t great, or doesn’t hold historical significance. There are a lot of films in cinematic history I don’t really like, but I understand why they are milestones.

I can’t believe -I am- the one having to say this: Respect Tony Stark and his film. He deserves it.

Huh. That did a remarkably good job of producing a ranking I agree with.  I got:

1. GotG

2. Infinity War

3. Civil War

4. End Game

5. Ragnarok

6. The Avengers

7. Winter Soldier

8. Dr Strange

9. AM & TW

10. BP

11. SM: Homecoming

12. Iron Man

13. Captain Marvel

14. Ant-Man

15. CA: First Avenger

16. Thor

17. IM 3

18. AoU

19. GotG 2

20. IM 2

21. Thor: DW

22. Hulk

A little surprised BP and IM aren't higher and that AM&TW isn't lower, but generally I'm ok with it.
