Dropping a trailer, (unannounced, no less) for one of the most anticipated movies of next year on a Friday morning when everyone is either going to school or work, and still setting viewing records is Marvel just flexing their nuts for the fun of it because they can.

I would argue it's THE most anticipated movie of next year. Only The Lion King can compare, in all honesty. I guess Pikachu might be up there too? I know Star Wars will always have the fiercest fanbase in the world, but let's be honest: Ep. IX will not sniff A4 numbers WW and possibly may lose DOM as well.

Imagine a world where Avengers breaks IW's record and then Pikachu, Aladdin and Godzilla all open to 100M+ in a row.

It'd be like the box office on viagra.

Well I guess there is stiff competition

Unless if Aladdin moves (I do think one of Disney's live action films will move as they are too close-also Aladdin seems more like a holiday film-then again so did Beauty and the Beast...)

I think the timing was better for views actually.  It’s more prime time on the other side of the Globe, and as for the US being around people at work makes it just as easy for people to chat about

You raise a very good point about it being prime time internationally!  They are coming for that money WW!

If AOU didn't have zero rewatchability value, more people would have caught on

Says a lot about how they've turned out so far that if one were to miss 100M, I'd currently expect it to be Aladdin.

Is it conceivably possible for Disney to have THREE $700 million domestic films next year? (EG, LK, SW9)

They will assuredly have 5 flicks opening with $100 million or more, maybe 6 or 7 or even 8.

And 5 films over $500 million domestically is not completely out of the question. (EG, SW9, LK for sure and TS4 and F2 possible).

If Infinity War couldn't pass $700 Mil domestic, IDK if this will.

But hey it could very well do that and I'll end up looking like a fool.

Only reason IW didn't pass 700M was Deadpool 2. Direct comic book competition that opened to 125M, after all.

I dunno if Pikachu and Aladdin could affect Endgame as much as they're both likely gonna be family films that touch on different audiences, even if they hit big openings of their own, but Godzilla might be an issue. Who knows, though.

Obligatory chime-in, since this movie appears to be named after a HIGHLANDER sequel!  😁

(But yes, someone already beat me to it pages ago...)

Not a fan of the title.

But everything else looks aiight, I like that they don't reveal *anything* -- and yeah, wouldn't it be an even more hilarious if this teaser was essentially a prequel comic -- that this footage is nearly all for this teaser to set things up, and almost none of it appears in the final film (except for Ant-Man and Steve's "It has to work.")

That's all the audience needs, of course...  but of course there will be more, including Captain Marvel and Rocket.

Really curious to see how the Spider-Man trailer plays all this out, too.  Like I said earlier, I wouldn't mind just a teaser with his new costume and no dialogue from Holland, just parlaying the mystery of "Who's under the mask?"

Well my favorite characters are probably Thor and Star Lord-which of course only half of that can be seen in the trailer.
